Author of Benghazi mom’s RNC speech voting for Hillary

The author of Patricia Smith’s speech where she blamed Clinton for her son’s death is voting for her.

Richard Cross, a former Capitol Hill staffer, wrote that he believes he’s never voted for a Democrat running for federal office. But now he feels Trump has “betrayed and perverted” the party of Ronald Reagan and Dwight D. Eisenhower.

“Weeks after the end of the 2016 GOP convention, I am confronted by an inconvenient fact: Despite what I wrote in that nationally televised speech about Hillary Clinton, I may yet have to vote for her because of the epic deficiencies of my own party’s nominee,” he wrote in a Baltimore Sun column.

“The reality is, I cannot vote for Donald Trump. I could never vote for Donald Trump,” he continued, saying that leaves the “kooky” Libertarian ticket or Clinton as the only feasible options in November.

“The only prospect more terrifying than voting for Hillary Clinton is not voting for her,” he wrote.

To be fair, Reagan perverted the party of Dwight D. Eisenhower.

      Nailed it!!!
Reagan supplied weapons to America’s enemies, ignored the atrocities of Saddam Hussein and other brutal dictators, caved in to the demands of Lebanese terrorists, supported the violent overthrow of democratically elected governments, supported the racist Apartheid government of South Africa, set records for budget deficits and tripled our national debt, put millions of Americans out of work with his failed trickle-down economics and robbed Social Security to pay for his budget failures.
As a President he was a total failure….and I’ve only scratched the surface.

Great list, now I feel like I took the easy route lol.

And one of his most egregious acts was to plant the seed that “government is the enemy”, which has eroded not just essential services, but the very concept of being a nation, state, or whatever. All to feed the corporateers.

It is almost like he was on to something.

Pres. Eisenhower’s Farewell address to the Nation is as Powerful today as it was then, Jan. 17,1961. It should be read to the opening of every session of Congress.

The man can write and think. That is really Good for a Republican.

    wrote the speech?

    WROTE THE SPEECH?

    WTF!?!

(heartfelt) speech for the grieving mother – take one – and be sure to write that Hillary is to blame!

is there any f’ing body in the GOP that has ANY real human emotions other than hate, or do they all have a writer to make that speech for them?

Of course, gramps (how are you, long time no se :-))

It was clear to me, when I heard “I blame HRC personally for my son’s death”, that the emotion was manufactured.

Shameful exploitation of a vulnerable, grieving mother by the GOP.

This was the book definition of an attempted “Gotcha” (for those who didn’t notice, it was meant to be the GOP’s 12 year delayed rebuttal for Cindy Sheehan).

And deservedly, it fell flat on it’s face.

Imagine a letter from Trump to the relatives of a soldier
who died in war — Dear whomever, your killed in battle
father / son / spouse was a LOSER, and I hate LOSERS,
    you’re FIRED, sincerely Donald T.
and what was it he said again to McCain, “I prefer my
heroes to not get killed, OK?”
