Clinton: Security was ‘not my ball to carry’ in Benghazi

Posted by | July 24, 2016 20:41 | Filed under: Politics

Hillary Clinton told Scott Pelley on “60 Minutes” that she “took responsibility” for the attacks, but security “was not my ball to carry.”

Though Clinton said she accepted responsibility for what happened, she pointed out the nine investigations on her actions that failed to find enough culpability to prosecute for a criminal offense.

“I immediately stood up an independent committee – distinguished Americans, military and civilian experts. They came out and they said, “You know, the ball was dropped – in security. And, you know, some of the decisions that were made, probably should have been rethought.”

Pelley then asked whether the compound’s security reports ever reached her, to which, Clinton said they never did.

“It was not my ball to carry,” Clinton said. “Those never came to my attention…We have security experts. I am not going to substitute my judgment for people who have been in the field, who understand what our men and women are up against.”

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT): I ‘Absolutely’ Voted To Cut Funding for Embassy Security-OCT 10, 2012 before and after the Benghazi consulate attack.

For fiscal 2013 (10/1/12 to 9/30/13), the GOP-controlled House proposed spending $1.934 billion for the State Department’s Worldwide Security Protection program — well below the $2.15 billion requested by the Obama administration. House Republicans cut the administration’s request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012. (Negotiations with the Democrat-controlled Senate restored about $88 million of the administration’s request.) http://thinkprogress.org/security/2012/10/10/985191/chaffetz-absolutely-funding-embassy-security/

That’s just it – a bunch of the fuggers who are complaining the loudest about how Hillary didn’t provide sufficient security are the same damn fuggers who specifically voted down the FUNDING for the security they say she failed to provide.

Of course the Secretary of State is not in charge of security.

I’m pretty sure the Republicans know this but that’s not the point.

The point is that the GOP are making cheap political points over the deaths of patriots.

Let’s have another investigation and see if there are different results.

Instead security was left to a few who were employed by blackwater. I don’t know who was doing the contractor hiring ? But I’m sure they didn’t know a movie deal was part of the agreement

The reason for the GOP focus on Benghazi and
    the e-mails:
Stock market has regained all it’s post-Brexit losses
and is setting record highs, job market rebouned
strongly in June, other economic measures such as
consumer spending, housing, autos are strong.
