Possible Trump VP says military fired him for calling enemy ‘radical jihadis’; says Obama ‘bans criticism’

Michael T. Flynn has been mentioned as the latest vettee among Trump’s possible VP picks.

Two years ago, I was called into a meeting with the undersecretary of defense for intelligence and the director of national intelligence, and after some “niceties,” I was told by the USDI that I was being let go from DIA. It was definitely an uncomfortable moment (I suspect more for them than me).

I asked the DNI (Gen. James Clapper) if my leadership of the agency was in question and he said it was not; had it been, he said, they would have relieved me on the spot.

I knew then it had more to do with the stand I took on radical Islamism and the expansion of al Qaeda and its associated movements. I felt the intel system was way too politicized, especially in the Defense Department…

We have failed to challenge their jihadist doctrines, even though their true believers only number a small fraction of the Muslim world, and even though everybody, above all most living Muslims, knows that the Islamic world is an epic failure, desperately needing economic, cultural and educational reform of the sort that has led to the superiority of the West.

So first of all, we need to demolish the terror armies, above all in the Middle East and Libya. We have the wherewithal, but lack the will. That has to change. It’s hard to imagine it happening with our current leaders, but the next president will have to do it…

It infuriates me when our president bans criticism of our enemies, and I am certain that we cannot win this war unless we are free to call our enemies by their proper names: radical jihadis, failed tyrants, and so forth.

“We have failed to challenge their jihadist doctrines”?????
We’ve been bombing them for decades and the situation only gets worse.
There is a reason you were let go from the defense department.
This man is the very definition of insanity and the perfect running mate for a fascist.

Donnie: ‘But Flynn do you know how use that Military stuff?’
Gen. Flynn: ‘And I can guarantee your WW III !’
Donnie: ‘You’re hired! We’ll make millions on this whatchamacallit III reality TV show.’

Flynn is the author of the new book, “The Field of Flight,” (St. Martin’s Self-published Press), out Tuesday.

It’s like they’re producing a remake of Dr. Strangelove.

And Kubrick’s characters were no crazier than these loons.

I’d rather just shove it up his ass.

You better wear an anchor, I have a feeling there will be a huge suction sound coming from that hole.

As Bart Simpson once said, he both sucks and blows.

                • Suzanne McFly July 10th, 2016 at 10:28

Ahhh Bart Simpson, such an eloquent speaker. He never leaves you guessing about what his point is lol.

It drives me crazy that so many people automatically classify The Simpsons (not the last few years, unfortunately) and South Park as kids’ shows simply because they’re animated. Kids don’t get most of the humor in either of the shows. To say nothing of the cultural references.

I love both those shows, they are hilarious.

I love that movie…My favorite line is “there will be no fighting in the war room”…genius…

Compare the scene where the president is talking to Dmitri in Moscow, with the one in Failsafe where the president (Henry Fonda) is talking to the American Ambassador in Moscow as the bomb is being dropped, and the line goes dead. Then the president orders a bomb to be dropped on New York to “atone” for it. (my word) I’ve always thought the way the plot went was ridiculous.

            • JMax July 10th, 2016 at 16:23

The President didn’t drop the bomb on New York as an act of atonement. He dropped it to prove to the Soviet Premier that the US was not carrying out a full scale attack on the Soviet Union. This was to prevent all-out nuclear war.

I remember reading it that way when I first saw the movie, because it seemed so implausible. Either way, it would never happen that way.

He definitely knows the GOP playbook. Make wild derogatory statements about President Obama with absolutely no facts to back them.

  3. Suzanne McFly July 10th, 2016 at 09:37

I read what he is saying as “we are better than them and we need to bomb them until they comply by our wishes. The democrats will not do this because they are too “PC” ( the PC part said in a little girl voice of course)”.

This man was a General? Woah…

    • brando5111 July 10th, 2016 at 09:39

Well if we speak those words, magically all will go away? Stupid man…what careless statements…figures – perfect for Cheeto VP… The idiots on the right will love this chump.

  5. Brooklyn_Michael July 10th, 2016 at 10:13

When you characterize the entire Muslim world as a failure and conflate various enemies of the state into one big Legion-of-Doom conglomerate, with no concept of how your words make things worse and how your actions breed more jihadists than they kill….THAT is why you get fired.

On the other hand, it makes you an ideal VP pick for the Cheeto-hued dumpster fire that is the Republican nominee.

As I’ve said all along, The Obama Administration has been the single biggest threat to America and the many millions of white, liberal, women that guaranteed his election to office. We can be thankful for term limitations. It means a single person can only do 8 years of damage to the USA…not including the lifetime Judiciary appointments of course. Lifetime Judiciary appointments? I think we need to start questioning that practice as well.

    • Brooklyn_Michael July 10th, 2016 at 11:18

That’s because America’s racists and various ignorant wing nuts pretty much lost their shit from Day 1 of his administration.

      Like you.

Also – Hysterical that you question lifetime judicial appointments. Bet you’re simultaneously a big fan of what you imagine the Constitution to be.

    • Hirightnow July 10th, 2016 at 11:32

Yeah…no; racists getting upset that their racism can be seen more clearly every day is not President Obama’s doing; that’s the internet doing that.
Your hatred of having a black President is also something that can’t be blamed on him; that’s racism doing that.
Racists are cockroaches, and the web is the kitchen light.

WTF? I hope this is some kind of Poe because if it’s not you have some serious problems with reality.

    • Comicus July 10th, 2016 at 14:19

How dare he be black? The nerve.

    In the Real World:
n 2012, Flynn got the biggest promotion available to a military intelligence guy: Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), the Pentagon’s in-house intelligence agency. President Obama personally appointed Flynn to the job, and tasked him with reforming the agency. Flynn’s approach to dissenting employees, said at the time, was simple: “move them or fire them.”

When I saw recently that this name was being floated, I instantly felt afraid.
Now I know why. Words have real world consequences. They can hurt efforts being made greatly, they can stop progress in it’s tracks. They can also heal.
Thank God we’ve had PO this past 7 1/2 years doing the talking about EVERYTHING.

  9. Sy Colepath July 10th, 2016 at 12:41

He obviously has problems with following orders, making his firing apropos. If he was not willing to follow the lead of the President, he should have stepped down and then taken the opportunity to explain why. How did this dickhead make it General?

  10. Red Mann July 10th, 2016 at 13:30

    Sounds like another Jerry Boykin.

    • bpollen July 11th, 2016 at 05:00

And kinda like General Walker (Oswald missed with him.)

  11. JMax July 10th, 2016 at 16:17

For a former flag officer he sure seems like a simpleton.

For a “noble warrior,” he comes off as pretty damn whiny. Then you add in the “Islamic world is an epic failure” pronouncements… Since oil was discovered in the Middle East, they’ve had almost no chance to control their own politics. If the Middle East is a failure, it’s OUR failure. Take how much oil influences the politics in the west, and then multiply it’s influence by a thousandfold. And the US has been the foreign policy arm of the industry.
