wow…These folks never met Noodles or Rico…My Doggies are nothing like what this article says…My doggies Do Hug Back…they lean into ya, that is their way of hugging…they know what I am saying, before I say it…And body language comes naturally to any animal…Huh…ok, my doggies loves their ears scratched, but I refuse to lick them on the face…the Butt Scratch is a Little Bit ‘o Heaven…still no sniffing butt for me…Bah, my guys are genius level language experts and they have taught me how to read a dog’s body language…Tail wagging doesn’t come naturally to me tho…I speak Pit Bull fluently…and there is no shitting in the house…unless I do it….Hmm…Doggies don’t play these emotional games…They loves ya when they don’t bites ya…
My doggies live in the Present…they don’t worry about the past, and they don’t fear the future…Food, petting and stroking, and a good marmot hunt is part of Dolce Vita…If only humans had it so good…

Noodles and Rico are lucky guys with you as their human! You seem to master dog’s codes. :)

I’m calling BS on this entire piece. The only thing that I’ve read elsewhere that seems to be true is the part about hugging and not all dogs feel that way. It depends totally on how you do it.
Our Corgi does his own hugging of our necks with his if we lie on the floor. It is so darn cute. I could go through the rest point by point, but don’t have the time to waste.

When we’re riding home from a hike my dog pushes her nose under my hand getting me to pet and scratch her head. She particularly loves it when i flap her ears around. When I stop she immediately pushes her nose under my hand insisting I continue. Who doesn’t like to have their heads petted ?
