McConnell refuses to say if Trump is qualified to be president

This can’t be good for the Republican Party, its leadership or its nominee.

Stephanopoulos asked McConnell whether he believes that Donald Trump is qualified to be president in response to a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll, which shows that nearly two-thirds of respondents believe that Trump is not qualified to serve in the nation’s highest office. When asked directly if he agrees with a supermajority of American voters regarding Trump’s qualifications, McConnell admitted that Trump “has made a number of mistakes over the last few weeks,” but he did not directly answer the question.

McConnell did offer one assurance to Republican voters who may be concerned that their presidential candidate is unfit for the White House. Trump is “beginning to use a prepared script more often.” So there’s that.

Come on Mitch, don’t be shy. Come out of your shell and tell us that Donald Trump really IS the best thing that the GOP has to offer. Haha

We should be on our guards against over confidence. Election Day is still over 4 months away. But I am definitely enjoying this slow-motion HiDef view of the Republican party crashing and burning.

Trump’s supporters continue to do Hillary’s job for her.

It doesn’t matter what he says or doesn’t say, we know he’s not qualified. Hell, he’s not qualified to clean my toilet.

Probably a smart move on McConnell not to comment on whether Donald Trump is qualified to be President, as it would open the door for the next question: Mr. McConnell, with you being so qualified to be a senator and majority leader of the Senate, why have you been a total failure as a leader for the Congress?

  11. amersham1046 June 26th, 2016 at 20:40

    Is McConnell qualified to judge
