McCrory: NC to enforce anti-trans law as tresspassing

Making things worse than they already are:

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) this week said that the state will enforce HB2, the law passed in March that keeps transgender people from using the public bathroom that aligns with their gender identity, like trespassing law.

“We’re using trespassing laws that we were using before House Bill 2, we’re using that now,” he told reporters at a ribbon cutting for a candy plant on Thursday, according to a video from North Carolina journalist Bryan Anderson. “But you know, it’s just basic privacy rights and that’s trespassing and we’ll continue to do that just like we were doing long before the Charlotte ordinance. So nothing’s really changed in that regard.”

    Just like Jim Crow laws, the anti trans laws are an incoherent idea can’t be defended in reasonable terms.

              And they admit it as if they are saying something sensible. Who would invest with anyone who only had a 2% success rate, who would want a doctor that only save 2% of their patients, who would want to work for a company that only paid you 2% of the time?

    this asshole just refuse to learn. if they really think they can just look at someone and automatically think they know who is who, think again. and no person born a male who trans in a female wants a little girl, and same with those born female. try and put either of the 3 below in a restroom because of their gender at birth.

    They’re public bathrooms, I do not believe that trespassing laws can apply unless they are there after hours.

        Seriously, I hate it when I enter the “group” bathroom at work and there is ANYONE else there. I sure as hell don’t care what gender they are, I just want them to wash their hands, clean up after themselves and damnit – don’t make eye contact with me.

          Years ago (8-10) I was in a bathroom when a pre-op transsexual came in and used the bathroom. I didn’t feel threatened, worried, embarrassed… It WAS out of the ordinary, but not nearly as out of the ordinary as the time I had to put my hand on a guys back in the same bar bathroom to help him pee toward the urinal instead of weaving it all over the room. To sum up, the hetero guy was MUCH the greater threat to my person. Or any children.

    I live in NE and our state GOP passed a resolution last week calling for a similar bill here. The NCAA already is threatening to pull out of events- we could lose the College World Series. A couple dipshit legislators already are saying that doesn’t matter we nee to do the ‘right’ thing. Our idiot governor little Petey Ricketts is chiming in with the same stuff, too.

    For Christ’s sake, have they nothing better to do?

    Since it is often impossible to tell who is a transgender and some have had operations on their genitalia, I guess everyone in NC will be required to have their birth certificates with them when they want to use a bathroom. “SHOW US YOUR PAPERS, MACH SCHNELL!”
