Republican Congressman uses racial slur during TV interview

Posted by | May 14, 2016 13:12 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

New York Republican Peter King referred to Japanese as “Japs” and defended it using the same excuse Trump uses for racially charged language.

King used the racial slur “Japs” during an interview on MSNBC on Friday morning and said he won’t apologize for it, calling people “too politically correct.” While discussing his endorsement of Donald Trump on Morning Joe, King raised concerns about some of Trump’s positions and said, “I don’t know if he’s thought them through or it’s just like the guy at the end of the bar that says, ‘Oh, screw them, bomb them, kill them, pull out, bring them home. You know, why pay for the Japs, why pay for the Koreans?'” California Democratic Congresswoman Judy Chu, who chairs the Asian Caucus, said, “Using the J word is disgusting and harkens back to a shameful time in our history when violence, xenophobia, and the internment of Japanese Americans were everyday phenomena.”

Doesn’t he owe us a self-inflicted dose of cyanide? (Or was that empty promise for their other whacko candidate?)

So, Pete… hows that GOP minority voter outreach thingy goin’?

Based on what the GOP says every day, I don’t see how any minority person or woman could even consider supporting any of them.

The Republicans have gone over the edge. They certainly don’t care who they insult. When they show their true colors on how they actually feel about different ethnic groups they hope that the American people feel the same way and will support their hateful views. Just look at The DONALD. He has run his campagin on hatred, racism and discrimination among other things.
Thank goodness there are more people with brains who will not let The Donald win.

That’s what we all hope anyway.

I put all this on Rush Limbaugh. He was the test case. The toe in the shallow end of the pool. When he was allowed to get away with this kinda stuff, it opened the door. Next thing ya knew, it was all over talk radio. Then came Joe Wilson calling the President a liar during the SOTU. Now everything and anything they want to say aloud is fair game, because there are no repercussians. And what has this gotten us?…A carnival barker named Donald Trump, who probably could shoot someone on fifth avenue and not lose a vote.

    These are our leaders. SMDH

So I guess Peter King and all Irish Americans will not take offense when I refer to them as ‘Drunken Catholic Micks’ who are tainting our good European blood line..

I was called that when I was a kid. And since I had a German name called “Kraut”, and obviously Italian complexion “Wop” and “Dago”.
In fact, some of my senior neighbors still use the terms.

Folks, read the story. The part with that word is in quotes. He’s essentially quoting typical Trump supporters.
    You know – morons.

if King doesn’t want me to be politically correct, can I say that the word moron was really invented for people like him?

I don’t think I will do it, but I want to make sure he and his family are okay with it if I change my mind later.
