Cruz blames Rubio for not stopping Trump

Posted by | May 8, 2016 16:00 | Filed under: Politics

Ted Cruz and his staff believe they could have stopped Donald Trump if only Marco Rubio would have played ball with them.

Top officials of the Cruz campaign are convinced there is one specific step that could have stopped Trump — and they blame Sen. Marco Rubio for not taking that step.

In early March, it became clear that Trump was well on his way to the nomination and would even likely defeat Rubio in his home state of Florida’s March 15 primary. According to several sources close to Cruz, the Cruz campaign conducted several secret polls to see what the impact would be if Rubio joined Cruz as his running mate, with Cruz at the top of the ticket.

Politico reported in March that Rubio rejected the idea of a “unity ticket.” But the sources close to Cruz and Rubio are now offering a much fuller picture of the extent of Cruz’s polling, the reasons why Rubio said no, and the resentment the Cruz people have about Rubio’s rejection of the idea.

Together, two zeroes still add up to zero.

I’m not good at math, but I think that adds up!

American public to both Rubio and Cruz:

    We hate you both, equally.

  4. Suzanne McFly May 8th, 2016 at 16:55

Damn shame, cruz has lived his entire life not being liked by anyone and now he thinks that the fact that he is not liked is someones else’s fault?

    • Larry Schmitt May 8th, 2016 at 17:02

Since god told him to run, maybe it’s his fault.

      • majii May 8th, 2016 at 17:05

Cruz lied and so did his wife and dad. They interpreted their own goal to be POTUS as being inspired by God, but God had another goal—swatting down Cruz’s candidacy.

        • Larry Schmitt May 8th, 2016 at 17:18

Since I’m convinced god doesn’t care who is president, I don’t think he had, or ever has, anything to do with it.

          • clemans May 9th, 2016 at 08:09

I believe that is no god, or one worth attention, so it isn’t hard to believe whoever is president doesn’t matter off this planet.

      • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker May 8th, 2016 at 17:28

        Oh snap!! :-)

        • Larry Schmitt May 8th, 2016 at 17:41

          I knew you’d like that.

      • whatthe46 May 8th, 2016 at 17:57

if they believe in “god” then why is it they can’t accept that it was GOD that wanted Obama to be president and not any of them?

        • Larry Schmitt May 8th, 2016 at 18:13

Because god’s white. Everyone knows that.

but god created man in is image……black people were here for over 200,000 years at least before the mutations allowed people in the north to develop lighter colored skin.

            • Larry Schmitt May 9th, 2016 at 08:23

Actually it’s the other way around. Man created god in his own image. Think about it.

              • clemans May 9th, 2016 at 08:27

Larry, I am an atheist, I believe man invented gods to begin with. I was just taking the mickey off Cruz and his wife.

                smiles

    • majii May 8th, 2016 at 17:03

He’s also lived his entire life thinking that it’s others’ fault that they don’t like him. Forget that he’s a smary-faced b*stard, a serial liar, arrogant, and extremist in all of his positions on every matter related to governing effectively. He doesn’t play well with others, which is what caused members of his own party to refuse to endorse his candidacy.

      • Suzanne McFly May 8th, 2016 at 17:10

And it has to hurt when the only other candidate in the end to support was rump, and they still wouldn’t support cruz.

  5. labman57 May 8th, 2016 at 17:34

Another Republican politician who refuses to accept responsibility for his own mistakes, failures, and shortcomings.

    • Larry Schmitt May 8th, 2016 at 17:41

It’s in the party constitution. (or whatever the founding document for the party is called)

      • whatthe46 May 8th, 2016 at 17:51

        laughing.

he hit her so many times…..looks like he had more feeling for his dad than for his wife…..hard call on that one. She looked frightened to me….not in this picture but during the press conference

  8. StoneyCurtisll May 8th, 2016 at 18:47

    Let the blame game begin….

  9. amersham46 May 8th, 2016 at 19:44

Ted is a loser and now blames somebody else for his short comings

    • clemans May 9th, 2016 at 08:02

why is it so hard to understand, he wasn’t ever popular from what people who know him say…..he didn’t win because there is no god and his wife hearing voices and him believing it makes him batshit crazy. In truth, the voters rejected him, like that did Rubio, Jeb, Jindal, Perry, Newt, Mitt……Palin, Bachmann, the I’m not a witch…..a whole bunch of them, the people just didn’t like what they were selling.

  10. bpollen May 8th, 2016 at 21:34

His failure is as a result of the fact that other people wouldn’t help? Gee, if only you didn’t alienate everybody you meet (including your kids,) people might be more cooperative. Which brings the blame right back to the Cuban-Canadian Messiah.

  11. fahvel May 9th, 2016 at 02:51

it’s cool: the god character told each of them they’d win and sat back for a while watching them live in la la land – and then, poof!! godlike, he tossed their asses out. Now god’s taunting the rest of the world by making trump seem real, for a little while.

  12. StoneyCurtisll May 9th, 2016 at 12:05

    Hey Ted…
Blame you “gawd” for not supporting you…
