New York Republicans ignore Cruz as he speaks

“New York values” means not taking crap from people who diss them.

In video uploaded to Twitter, Cruz can be seen speaking to the crowd in Manhattan’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, but can barely be heard over the buzz of conversations and clinking of dinnerware as people get up and walk around while ignoring the candidate…

Those who forgot that Cruz had attacked their city were reminded by Trump, who was the first candidate to address the crowd.

“In our darkest moments as a city, we showed the world the very, very best in terms of bravery, heart and soul of America,” Trump said as he recalled the 9/11 attacks. “These are the values we need to make America great again … to bring America together again… to heal America’s wounds.”

Cruz’s attempt at an applause line, saying “I have not built any buildings in New York City” but has spent his life “defending the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,” fell flat on the crowd, resulting in tepid applause.

You mean while “thousands of Muslims celebrated in New Jersey?” The ones you saw yourself, right? You’re not about healing any wounds, you’re about splitting this country apart.

I agree with you on Trump……he doesn’t seem to have been part of the great picture that he created.

On 9/11 my friend drove straight through to New Jersey then started the long sad struggle to get to the hospitals and places where people were taken to be treated or where bodies were stored. Her sibling had just given birth and somebody had to help search for her missing family member. I often talked to her by cell phone while she tearfully searched. She was numb at some point. It was a tragedy.

I have lots of friends from all over the world, in part through being a military spouse and living overseas. I had dozens and dozens of phone calls, from South Africa, England, and other places, all expressing deep sorrow, and many more emails from others. Much of the world mourned with us. Now they laugh nervously over the threat of Trump and Cruz.

On 9/11 none of the first responders (the brave ones that the US public have long forgotten and turn their backs on) cared what skin color or what political party someone might belong to……it is extremely sad that it takes something as big as 9/11 to make us all Americans first.

Trump doesn’t seem to have learned the message that was sent by the brave New Yorkers who had to endure and survive that tragedy. I sat home seeing the TV screen. I heard what being there did to my friend, but the people in New York had to see the event over and over again, smell the air, the smell of burning everything, and walk or drive by it, know people who died or were injured. And Cruz has gilhooley’s to talk about New York values.

I think most all other Americans would have done just as good as New Yorkers did……I am just glad that I wasn’t put to the test and I am sorry that any of them had to. They made our nation proud. But I wish they didn’t have to.

      Thank you New York values!

Market Watch says he may pick Fiorina as his running mate. Sarah Palin 2.0 anyone?

      The Queen of Mean?

      That makes sense to me.

      • Larry Schmitt April 15th, 2016 at 17:18

You’ll have to find another title for her. Leona Helmsley will always be the Queen of Mean.

Well, Larry, I guess I could insult her face but I wouldn’t want to agree with anything trump has puked out.

New York will go to Trump, I reluctantly believe this is better than them going for Cruz….

I makes no difference in the end Stoney, NY hasn’t voted red in 30+ years….

Won’t it be like listening to Palin anyway in cringeworthy level, if you’re a liberal.
So it is quite unseemly for this repuke crowd.
