I’d say this is an indication of just how much people (Republicans, Democrats and Independents) really are very annoyed with the “establishment” and politics as usual in DC.

But didn’t people (Republicans, Democrats and Independents) actually create the “establishment” and politics as usual in DC, by not participating and following the issues closely enough, by be suckered by ads (making raising money for ads necessary) , by believing that money is speech…
Basically, by being better consumers than citizens.
Many of the same people who complain about “establishment” and politics as usual in DC seem to be perfectly willing to elect officials, then abandon them to lobbyists once they are there.
Anyone who supported Obama’s agenda in 2008, but did not vote in 2010 and ceded their vote to the Keep Your Government Hands Off My Medicare” crowd, empowered the “establishment” and politics as usual in DC .

I wouldn’t say they created it so much as allowed it to happen by not voting or paying attention. Now that it has evolved into something they are not happy with there is push back.

That’s why this is such good news. Libs are starting to realize that they have the power to help shape policy should they participate.
