Cracks in wall of Republican obstruction on Garland

Posted by | April 2, 2016 10:01 | Filed under: Politics

Some Republicans seem poised to defy their leadership that planned a hard line obstruction against even giving a hearing to Supreme Court nominee Merrick Garland.

Well, say goodbye to that plan. The wall of obstruction put up by GOP leaders is showing a number of cracks as Senate Republicans – from blue and red states alike – defy their leadership and actually show minimum levels of professional courtesy to President Obama’s nominee, judge Merrick Garland. Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois (who happens to be facing a tough reelection fight) has already met with Garland and is actively pushing his colleagues to hold hearings and “man up and cast a vote.” Garland has more meetings lined up with Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and Sen. John Boozman of Arkansas. According to NBC News, one-quarter of Republican senators have expressed openness to at least meeting with Obama’s nominee.

Over the past seven years, Republicans have done everything to not only obstruct the President, they have attempted to erase everything he has accomplished and presided over through repeal attempts, frivolous lawsuits, and outright proposals to “abolish all legislation passed under Obama’s presidency.”

he just made them better. and furthermore, any idea that they did have was just a play on words they never intended to implement.

Some probably realize this is their best shot to get a guy,(who some republicans liked) close to their side since Bernie or Hillary has a good shot at the White House, imo!
