Rove: Republicans need a ‘fresh face’

Posted by | April 1, 2016 09:26 | Filed under: Politics

Karl Rove told radio host Hugh Hewitt that Republicans need to turn away from the current crop of candidates at the Republican convention.

Hewitt asked Rove, “Who is the most electable Republican … of the people who could be available to run?” All the current candidates have their problems, Rove answered. But there might be an outsider with just the right combination of attributes who could lead Republicans to victory:

If we have somebody who we think has, has been battle-tested, and has strong conservative principles and the ability to articulate them, and they are nominated at this convention, there will be a lot of acrimony from the people who were seeking the nomination. But if it’s somebody who has, you know, has those convictions that they can express in a compelling way, we could come out of the convention in relatively strong position … And a fresh face might be the thing that could give us a chance to turn this election and win in November against Hillary.

Rove’s is one of main people to blame for Donald Trump.

Only a party of idiots would listen to him on this subject.

He’s still waiting for the final Ohio results to come in.

And a fresh face like Jeb! / Cheney’s 3 delegate $130 M belly flop might be the thing that could give us a chance to turn this election and win in November against Hillary.

There are plenty of reasonable republicans out there. Take John Huntsman for example. He has spent most of his adult life in Government service, and because of his extensive overseas service is possibly the most informed person on foreign policy. He has worked for Democratic and Republican presidents alike, and attributes that ability to his policy of “working for a country, not a party”.
The problem is that unless you’re a screeching troglodyte catering to the fringe that subscribes to weird death panel conspiracies, and spews words like “commie and socialist” the GOP has no room for you in their ever shrinking tent.

      >> There are plenty of reasonable republicans out there.

But not enough to push a guy like Jon Huntsman over the margin of error.

the problem is, the reasonable gop are gone who couldn’t buy a vote in the senate or congress let alone be a nominee in a presidential election.

its a waterfall / undertow swim until further notice

Haha, coming from ultra-right conservative Karl Rove that is funny, I would expect him to be behind Trump with all the sh*t he has been saying over the years and his meltdown over Obama!

It’s not a fresh face they need, it’s fresh ideas.

Caitlin Jenner has a fresh face Karl…and she appears to be fully in the GOPTP mindset.

Rove’s as delusional as ever …He’s talking new faces now…???
We’re a month away from crowning the noms and he’s hoping for some great unknown new leader to rise from the steaming dung pile called the republican party and take them to victory over the forces of socialism.

    Two questions:
    1) Why is Karl “turdblossom” Rove still relevant?
    2) Why isn’t he in jail?

    • robert April 2nd, 2016 at 10:54

      senior advisor to GWB

      good question !

The “fresh face” is none other than bumpy face Jeb Bush. Count on it. Bush is now funding Cruz to keep Trump from the magic number of 1237. Once that is accomplished at the first convention delegate vote Bush will pull the rug under Cruz and sway the delegates to vote for him. Bush/Kasich, nice balance geographically and fully endorsed by the rot of the GOP establishment.
