Cruz claims America ‘never engaged in torture’

Posted by | March 23, 2016 11:35 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Rewriting a troubling history, which includes:

– one detainee was waterboarded for 2-and-a-half weeks until he passed out
– one detainee was stripped naked in a dungeon where he later died of hypothermia
– Khalid Sheik Mohammed was waterboarded 183 times and “slammed against walls”
– evidence of prisoners being on the receiving end of “forced enemas”

I’m so fed up with these motherfuckers rewriting history to get votes.

What ever happened to that little dog holding the leash? She was gross

    • mistlesuede March 23rd, 2016 at 12:04

I seem to remember she was court-martialed, but don’t quote me on that.

Three year sentence, served 521 days. Dishonorable discharge.

Not defending her, but why didn’t higher ups do time? That whole culture started at the very top…Cheney and his little dog Bush should be doing time…

In total agreement with you. They punished the sick peons who did the stuff and thought the American people would forget where it started from.
          We haven’t.

Ted’s absolutely right…it’s torture when the bad guys do it, but “enhanced interrogation” when the good guys do it!

    /s just in case…

Unfortunately, we’ve been rewriting history since the discovery of the “new world”. Manifest Destiny was a nice phrase to condone the slaughter of native Americans. The preferred terms now seem to be American Exceptionalism and Nation Building.

      Exactly.

Good to have you back! :)

Thanks. 13 out of 18 days in the hospital sucks.

        • Gina Bousquet March 23rd, 2016 at 21:41

I’m so sorry, but very glad you’ve recovered. I missed your comments and worried about the absence. :)

The U.S. has engaged in torture. More terrible than anything done in the middle east.

    • Roctuna March 23rd, 2016 at 14:17

Another great one from William! Tough to decide which is the most tortuous. I think it’s tie between the McCain sponge bath and sex with Coulter. If you were to somehow combine those two…….OMG.

These detainees ought to be grateful they were only waterboarded, frozen to death and receive forced enemas. Imagine having to sit through repeated performances of “Let the Eagle Soar” sung by John Ashcroft. That’s beyond cruel and unusual punishment and should be considered one of the worst forms of punishment imaginable!

You could add forced to watch Karl Rove rap…

One thing I agree with Herr Trump on…
Ted Cruz is a pathological liar.

    And Abu Ghraib never happened.

  8. amersham46 March 23rd, 2016 at 18:51

Torture? those are standard police procedures in Texas

  9. bpollen March 23rd, 2016 at 19:44

Nothing is ever wrong when you get to redefine the meaning of the words.

    Executions? Non-Corporeal Prison Transfers.
    Bribery? A clerk’s error.
Shacking up with the mistress? Meeting with constituents.
Lies? The mainstream media misquoted me (took me out of context, I never said it…)
