Movement to recall MI Gov. Snyder gains traction

Posted by | March 13, 2016 15:30 | Filed under: Politics

Problems snowball for the businessman-turned-governor:

Many Michigan voters now blame him for how he handled two of the state’s biggest debacles, the tainted water crisis in Flint and the tattered Detroit public schools.

Though he is subject to term limits and cannot run for re-election in 2018, Mr. Snyder is now under threat of a recall, an effort that began in full force on Tuesday. At school and library polling stations in Detroit, volunteers handed out literature, recruited help and urged voters to support the petition drive when signature collection begins later this month.

“He’s shown us that he’s just a businessman, not a governor,” said Wanda Jan Hill, 65, a Democrat and retired city employee, as she distributed leaflets outside a community center on the east side of Detroit. “He knew what was happening in Flint, and he did nothing. Where is the compassion?”

Emails showed that a series of government errors surrounding Flint’s switch to a new water source were compounded by a lack of response over many months, despite growing evidence that the water was unsafe with high levels of lead.

No time for modesty, he’s much more than a businessman or governor…he’s a criminal, that for reasons to be announced, knowing mislead the public while thwarting state and local agencies.
People died, there needs to be a criminal investigation.

Wait a minute, don’t we have a “businessman” running for President, and isn’t that his entire platform? Well at least the one running for President wasn’t good at it, maybe that will work in his favor.

Trump’s best experience and ability is knowing how to file for bankruptcy. That will come in handy if he was ever to get his hands on the U.S. spending.

I was leaving the Kroger I shop at a week ago saturday. There were 2 people collecting signatures for the recall. I passed they asked me “Can we get you to sign the petition to recall governor Snyder?” I said no thank you and walked to my car. I could see them from my car so i decided to watch for a few minutes. I stayed for about 6 or 7 minutes. In that time they approached aprox 43 people. Exactly ONE signed the petition.

After all of that I noticed that you negated to say WHY you wouldn’t sign, why is that? Are you in the ‘burbs Red Eye? We STILL recognize you dumpling.

      • The Original Just Me March 13th, 2016 at 23:34

Oh, he would have signed it, IF, he could have spelled his own name. Mental deficiency problem with that Specimen. :+)

You have to be a legal citizen to sign. That could have been the hang up.

Legal ? That matters to something like Red Eye Robot ? :+)

I didnt sign it because I dont want the governor recalled, neither does anyone else apparently. I live in Detroit, i have my whole life, 50 years, The store where i witnessed this is in Redford about 1/2 mile from the Detroit Redford Border At the intersection of Telegraph & West Chicago roads.
it is about 3 miles from where i live. Better than 80% of the stores customers are black and most are from Detroit, as are most of the store staff. Detroit Did not vote for Snyder. But even Detroiters are not signing petitions.

Ah, the resident pathological liar and Trump Supporter… we know why you would not sign, it was mostly black people being poisoned and losing their schools and having their duly elected leaders thrown out of office and replaced by Snyder’s Nazis.

Looks like a precious Snowflake got their little feelers hurt. Dont sweat it Cupcake they only need 789,000 signatures. They have 60 days from when the first signature is collected.

Every state (and there are 7) with a repuk gov. are in dire fiscal straights.

    • Dwendt44 March 13th, 2016 at 23:44

And a Republican House and Assembly. A Democratic branch of the legislature could or would keep a right wing Republican governor from screwing up that state big time.

      • allison1050 March 14th, 2016 at 07:18

You’re right but now there’s a total of 30 Repub. state legislatures!

        • CandideThirtythree March 14th, 2016 at 13:05

Yea, the bottom 30 of every category of quality of life. Republicans are horrible at everything except stealing money and polluting, they are good at that.

  6. allison1050 March 13th, 2016 at 17:40

I almost forgot, $800,000 for his defense team but he won’t release funds to remove pipes, what is wrong with this picture Mr. Take Personal Responsibility Thinking That Continuing To Say You’re Sorry Snyder?

  7. amersham46 March 13th, 2016 at 22:45

As a point of honor he should resign , oops he is a Republican ergo he has no honor

  8. Dwendt44 March 13th, 2016 at 23:46

The re-call laws establish a high barrier to recall. No doubt designed that way by a Republican administration.

  9. CandideThirtythree March 14th, 2016 at 13:01

He should have been UNDER the prison the second he removed elected officials from office and install cronies…those people did not give a damn about democracy or free and fair elections or even being part of the United States…he is no different than any other despot in any 3rd world country in the world…he is the worst kind of criminal and he has killed quite a few of the citizens of his state with his corruption.

How the DOJ could have allowed him to outlaw democracy is just beyond insane, he and his mafia all need to be in jail.
