FBI wants high schoolers to inform on Muslim students

It’s hidden in the language, but the FBI is looking for subtle ways to spy on anti-government students, mostly Muslims.

At the surface level, the FBI’s new guidelines do not appear to single out Muslim students. The document and supplementary educational materials warn of a broad array of threats, including anti-abortion and white supremacist extremists. The Jewish Defense League is listed alongside Hizbollah and Al Qaeda as an imminent danger to young people in the United States.

But a closer read reveals that the FBI consistently invokes an Islamic threat without naming it. Cultural and religious differences, as well as criticisms of western imperialism, are repeatedly mentioned as risk factors for future extremism. “Some immigrant families may not be sufficiently present in a youth’s life due to work constraints to foster critical thinking,” the guidelines state.

Sounds like a great idea, I mean sure – some may scoff at the idea of high schoolers acting as spies to ferret out violent psychopaths bent on a religious war with the west. And sure, with zero training they are far more likely to cause perfectly innocent people to be targeted/harassed. But really, what could go wrong? I do hope they plan on distributing shoe phones and other spy gear to the (non-muslim) kids to ensure this effort is fully effective.

Bad article, the list includes the anti-muslim white supremacist types and many many more. Fear mongering nothing more.

what TF does critical thinking have to do with this – if it were employed by the govt, much of the sht going on in the world would have happened or be happening. Politics and thought are not on the same page.

That seems so conservative, to say the least…
