Kentucky bill requires men to get note from wife, pledge on Bible to get viagra

A Kentucky democrat is schooling Republicans on family values in a very sarcastic but very creative manner. Rep. Mary Lou Marzian sponsored Bill 396 which would force men to visit a doctor twice and require them to obtain signed permission from their wives before obtaining a prescription for Viagra or other such drugs for erectile dysfunction.…

“…ensure that they are informed about a drug with potentially dangerous side effects…” Then why not require a prescription and a not to buy liquor? The side effects of alcohol are well known, and much more dangerous than “an erection lasting more than four hours.”

Has booze ever caused one’s penis to become necrotic and fall off, if not amputated to prevent gangrene first?

      • Larry Schmitt February 13th, 2016 at 12:50

And the risk of that happening, compared to the risk of side effects from drinking would be…?

But it has been a precipitating factor in innumerable sexual assaults, murders, crime sprees, infanticide, vehicular deaths and killings, cirrhosis, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, stroke, hypertension, domestic violence, child abuse, psychotic breaks, hepatitis. There are huge costs, both personally and as a society, to societal drug use in terms of alcohol.

It won’t make your d*ck fall off, but it will make it not function, function poorly, end prematurely, and will sometimes make it a criminal weapon.

So what was your point again? Unless it has IDENTICAL results, then it’s not an apt comparison? That would indicate that you don’t understand what “comparison:” actually means.

        • Comicus February 14th, 2016 at 01:42

A side effect is an effect that is secondary and unintended. Alcohol is intended to cause intoxication. That is the reason people purchase alcohol. People do not purchase Viagra to lose their penises. That is a true side effect. You see, I do understand what a comparison is and, more importantly, a bad comparison.

          • bpollen February 14th, 2016 at 04:59

Nor do people purchase alcohol for cirrhosis or addiction or the DTs, just like they do not purchase viagra with the goal of a necrotic penis. I don’t know how you can say that your winkie taking a hike is a true side effect, but side effects of alcohol are not. By your own definition of side effect, all of the side effects I listed for alcohol fit. Your fear that your penis might become detachable off has nothing to do with viagra or alcohol. Are you appointed arbiter of THE ONE TRUE SIDE EFFECT?

            • Comicus February 14th, 2016 at 22:42

No. I’m just going along with the scientific definition.

              • bpollen February 14th, 2016 at 23:26

You are telling me that your definition is the scientific definition, and the scientific definition of side effect is:
                Winkie falling off = bad.
                Cirrhosis = Good

What science was this? That says that Cirrhosis is a primary, typically desirable effect, but Winkie-ectomies are not desirable. Must be some new kind of science, where facts and definitions are superfluous.

Cirrhosis isn’t a side effect — it’s the whole reason people drink!
Sure, that makes sense. Cuz it’s “scientific.”

      • CharlieMA February 13th, 2016 at 11:03

Not as much as it is suppose to be an attempt to reduce republicans mantra through some sarcasm.

Not as much as my response is way over yours.. Never assume that which is not in evidence.. when one thinks they are playing a fool the joke is on them.

          Marzian, an abortion-rights
supporter, said HB 396 also is meant to protest intervention by a
predominantly male General Assembly into women’s health.

“Do we really want a bunch or legislators interfering in private, personal, medical decisions?” she asked.

        • Comicus February 13th, 2016 at 12:41

Just concede you missed the point and preserve your remaining dignity.

        • bpollen February 13th, 2016 at 20:30

Then how do you explain the tire-tracks on your scalp?

  4. mistlesuede February 13th, 2016 at 11:06

This is why we need more woman in Congress and in State Houses everywhere.
    Right on sister!

I don’t think this bill goes far enough. I think we should close down half the pharmacies that sell Viagara and have men travel miles to get some. Also, they shouldn’t be allowed to buy any until they watch a movie on the effects of a 4-hour erection.

    .
And, if a woman cuts off a man’s penis, she could be exonerated from any wrongdoing by saying things like, “God intended this to happen” and “I’ts a gift from God”. Besides, the men were asking for it because, “the body has a way of shutting that whole thing down”.

exactly…fight absurdity with absurdity…I love it …this is exactly what I would do

  7. amersham46 February 13th, 2016 at 19:04

Story fits somewhere between inmates running the asylum and the hillbillies running the State House
