I wonder what our forefathers would think about us even concerning ourselves about a candidates religion, and yet we know nothing about many of the policies they would propose or their standings on public issues.

All these Baggers screaming about the Constitution always forget the part about ” no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

In some countries not necessarily an issue.

    • Dwendt44 January 27th, 2016 at 23:46

Shouldn’t be in this country either.

Sanders often presents his support for curbing Wall Street banks and ending economic inequality in values-laden terms. He recently described it as “immoral and wrong” that the highest earners in the country own the vast majority of the nation’s wealth.

Without a hint of Irony, it would be an Atheist driving out the money changers! lol

Except for the part where he’s not an atheist?

There is no Overton Window on the sanity scale. Its a see-saw with Science sitting one one end and Superstition on the other end. I don’t see any evidence that Sanders is sitting on the crazy side. Well maybe his hair sits on the crazy side, his gray matter and morality firmly on the science side. lol
People will use all sorts of terms to not say Atheist. Agnostic, non-believer, not especially religious, I keep my own faith, I like to sleep in on Sundays, football is my religion, etc. Even the great Neil deGrasse Tyson avoids the dreaded word Atheist.

I just meant that he seems to have a spirituality about things, although I can see where those comments could be argued to sound atheistic.
          I don’t know… maybe I was just wrong.

I make no guarantees my interpretations are 100% correct. I agree with you totally that Bernie does seem to be very spirtual/moral. The Golden Rule is univeral over the world, I treat you well and you treat me well and neither party has any expectations of any rewards. The other Golden Rule is universal too, those who have the Gold make the rules. I fear the latter rule is much more prevalent.

              It is more prevalent.

But we could be at the tipping point where not just Bernie, but people in general, have had enough of the latter rule being the standard.

              Sometimes the good guys win.

no need to support religion when you will be defending your religion full time from the rwnj gop

  6. Kick Frenzy January 28th, 2016 at 02:30

    Dear Everybody,
Religion is not the same as faith.

    Works for me

  8. Bunya January 28th, 2016 at 14:16

This is unacceptable! Who’s he going to blame if things don’t go according to plan? He obviously can’t say something like, “God wants me to bomb (insert country here)”!

  9. Lyndia January 28th, 2016 at 22:26

Does that make him a bad person? I don’t think so.

  10. CandideThirtythree January 31st, 2016 at 23:55

He was one of the ones who invited the Pope to congress, he went to Liberty University, he has defended Muslims against the ugly stuff republicans say about him…I think that makes him the most qualified for the job…he didn’t pick one and single out the rest.
