Rubio: My Supreme Court Nominees Will Oppose Abortion And Gay Marriage

Posted by | December 7, 2015 15:56 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Now we know that there will be a litmus test for a Marco Rubio court appointment.

…Rubio said that he will only nominate Supreme Court justices who believe that the court’s rulings on marriage equality and abortion rights are “constitutionally flawed.”

After claiming that Obergefell and Roe have no constitutional basis, the Florida senator added that he would also reverse President Obama’s executive order barring discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity among federal contractors.

In a previously released part of the interview, Rubio told Brody that government officials should flout court rulings on gay rights and abortion because “God’s rules always win.”

    Another divisive hypocrite.
Dividing people is exactly how gang leaders exploit their followers.

Separation of church and state…look it up, Rubio.

And they wonder why almost nobody born in the last 30 years will vote for them. It’s no longer a rich white mans world and they have a hard time undrstanding this. Just means they torpedo themselves which I’m more than fine with.

This old lady, who is within spitting distance of turning 80, would not vote for anyone of those ignorant fools who are on the Republican ticket.

      • Imcanadian December 7th, 2015 at 17:50

That’s because you are obviously intelligent, tolerant, have compassion and believe in forgiveness. All of which is not part of the republican agenda.

The only reason they have midterm wins is because of gerrymandering!

  5. rg9rts December 7th, 2015 at 16:35

It will be a cold day in hell before we’ll have to worry about that

  6. FatRat December 7th, 2015 at 16:55

Rubio could’ve said “Wordlessly I saw a gnu.” instead of “God’s rules always win.” It would’ve made as much sense.

When did we start allowing senators to nominate Supreme Court justices?

    • tracey marie December 7th, 2015 at 17:51

He quit, his seat is up for grabs, when he loses this race he will have to become an evangelical lobbiest.

      • Larry Schmitt December 7th, 2015 at 18:09

Then when did we start allowing ex-senators to nominate justices?

  8. Larry Schmitt December 7th, 2015 at 17:01

And if they “flout court rulings on gay rights and abortion” they will be impeached, fined and possibly imprisoned. That’s what the rule of law is all about. And it’s what the republicans don’t get.

  9. Boltorama December 7th, 2015 at 17:13

Too bad you won’t set a foot in the Oval Office.

    • Judgeforyourself37 December 7th, 2015 at 17:31

Thankfully he will not be within many miles from the Oval Office.
Marco: newsflash: Women have always obtained abortions, legally, or illegally and have been doing so for many centuries, and marriage equality, thankfully, is here to stay. Those ships sailed, long ago.

“My Supreme Court Nominees Will Oppose Abortion And Gay Marriage.”
Yeah well, good luck with that eh, Marco? Methinks your chances of obtaining the office with the power to choose SC justices is between slim and none. Thanks for playing.

  11. Suzanne McFly December 7th, 2015 at 17:39

Sorry Marco but they are not there just to represent you, they represent America as a whole. You will never be President so I am hardly concerned about your ‘thoughts’ but it is humorous to see how delusional you are.

  12. tracey marie December 7th, 2015 at 17:50

  13. amersham46 December 7th, 2015 at 18:15

And which Supreme Court will you be controling

    • whatthe46 December 7th, 2015 at 19:19

      the one in his dreams.

  14. Chris December 7th, 2015 at 19:44

Marco, you do realize that if you, through some fluke of luck, become the GOP nominee, that Hillary will use this recording to destroy you, right?

No way someone is going to become president by being foursquare against abortion and gay marriage. But, then, you are a Republican. As such, you’re used to denying reality.

    Carry on, wayward son.

    • cwazycajun December 9th, 2015 at 10:35

which way did he go …. which way did he go…..over a cliff

  15. Mike December 7th, 2015 at 20:42

  16. Tim Coolio December 7th, 2015 at 22:48

This is the most important election of our lives!
we dont want the GOP swinging the Supreme Court more to the hard right FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES!

  17. Foundryman December 8th, 2015 at 00:44

Litmus tests for supremes, what an idea. But we’re not supposed to be ‘politicaly correct’ and talk about activists judges are we?

    I hope Hillary remembers this.

  18. liberalMD December 8th, 2015 at 05:53

So Marco Rubio wants the Supreme Court Justices to think like he does. And he probably wants the members of Congress to think like him too. Before too many months as the President he will have the military goose-stepping and he will be following in the footsteps of his political exemplars: Kim Il Sung, Adolf Hitler, Hideki Tojo and Josef Stalin.

  19. cwazycajun December 9th, 2015 at 10:34

ah excuse me mr rubihoe it doesn’t matter who the phuck you think should be on the S.C cause you will never have to make that decision
