GOP Congressional Candidate Believes Tornadoes, Autism, Punishment For Gays

Posted by | November 25, 2015 13:33 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

God is punishing America for gay tolerance by giving us tornadoes and autism, believes the Illinois Republican.

According to suburban Chicago’s Daily Herald, Susanne Atanus filed petition signatures on Monday in Cook County.

When Atanus surprisingly won the Republican primary for Congress in 2014, local and state Republicans attempted to have her removed from the running due to her extreme views, which include the belief that God punishes widespread LGBT acceptance in the form of autism, dementia and extreme weather events, including tornadoes and earthquakes.

Atanus was beaten in the general election by Democrat Jan Schakowsky.

Cook County GOP Chairman Aaron Del Mar told Mike Riopell of the Daily Herald that it is a certainty that her petitions will be challenged by Republicans within the party “for sure.”

“We will not support her at all,” Del Mar said. “We don’t want anything to do with her.”

Christian meteorology is what gave us Jim Inhofe tossing a snowball in congress: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3E0a_60PMR8

And he is the chairman of the Committee on Environment and Public Works.

is this real????? if so, bonne chance!

        • Larry Schmitt November 26th, 2015 at 10:25

Yes, it actually happened. Inhofe is a right wing “christian” fanatic who doesn’t believe in evolution or climate change or other sciency things like that. That’s the kind of idiot who becomes chairman of congressional committees.

    Chicken or egg query:
Does conservative ideology induce stupidity, or do stupid people gravitate toward conservative ideology?

  4. Larry Schmitt November 25th, 2015 at 14:06

That makes sense. To punish us for allowing teh gays to live happily together, this “loving” god makes innocent children and their families, who had nothing to do with gay marriage, suffer from some mysterious mental condition, for which there is no cure. Do I have that right? Oh, and he sends twisters to punish the places (deep South, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma) where the people most against gay marriage are most likely to live. That is one crazy god ya got there. I think I’ll stay away from that one.

  5. bushputz November 25th, 2015 at 14:15

If there was a god, he/she/it/they wouldn’t send us tornadoes and autism as punishment. Instead, we’d be sentenced to live among religious fundamentalist morons (sorry about the redundancy).

  6. whatthe46 November 25th, 2015 at 14:22

Campbells Soup makes a really Good turkey Gravy to put on it. It only needs to be Nuked.

            • whatthe46 November 25th, 2015 at 22:11

no nuking my gravy, no box top stuffing, it’s all from scratch.

              • The Original Just Me November 25th, 2015 at 22:36

Most of my cooking is from scratch and my own makings but some days get kind of long. So, me and my girl friend, Marie Calender, bake a pie.

                • whatthe46 November 26th, 2015 at 01:14

well, you’re sharing it together and that’s a good thing.

            • whatthe46 November 25th, 2015 at 22:09

buy the ticket sweetie. i’ll be there.

              • The Original Just Me November 25th, 2015 at 22:32

Nope, no ticket at this late date. It would have to be charter. After the past two weeks, I am afraid a charter is a little out of my reach. You see, two weeks ago, I loaned my 07 pickup to a needy friend. A mile from my house, he hit a deer. Yup, I pay the deduct. So.last night, I’m coming home and I hit a deer about 200 feet from where he did it. Our new Chrysler 200C, left front head light, new driver’s door and banged up back door. Another deduct and a scowl from my insurance agent. Did I mention I bought myself a new bottle of scotch today ?

the Republicans tried to have her removed due to extreme views? You’d think that extreme views was a requirement these days.

    • The Original Just Me November 25th, 2015 at 20:34

      And she’s UUUGGGGGLLLLLYYYYYYY !

  11. Bunya November 25th, 2015 at 19:47

These gays must be stopped!! First they were responsible for the WTC attack, then the earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, and hurricanes; now they’re responsible for autism and dementia??? I would also venture to guess they’re also responsible for this woman’s extreme hideousness.

We are in dire straits. We cannot defeat the gays! All is lost!

  12. The Original Just Me November 25th, 2015 at 20:31

What’s the Big deal ? Everybody knows you have to be crazy, Topped with Nuts to be a Republican.

I don’t know who’s uglier and more ignorant, this poor excuse for a human being Atanus or Trump. They should share hair styling secrets and tips and compare hatreds.

  16. liberalMD November 26th, 2015 at 09:24

I bet she’s got a skeleton or two in her closet. But I bet Jan Schakowsky will be ecstatic if she wins the GOP primary.
