Texas Republican: Keep Refugees Out; Too Easy To Get A Gun Here

Posted by | November 17, 2015 14:00 | Filed under: Politics

Republican State Rep. Tony Dale says refugees would have easy access to guns in Texas and so should be kept out of the state.

Dale (R-Cedar Park) sent a letter to Governor Greg Abbott (R) saying that current Texas laws, combined with how the federal government grants rights to refugees, would allow the newly arrived Syrians to arm themselves immediately…

“So they could get a job in the airport, for example and they could plant something on a plane like we saw in the Sinai Peninsula recently when the Russian airline was taken down, they could board a plane legally in the United States,” stated Dale.

On the matter of guns, Dale proposed amending Texas laws along the lines of liberal California that would provide refugees with certain rights — but make it harder for them to procure weapons.

Under Texas law, there is no waiting period and no registration or permit required when purchasing a gun, a resident need only show a state-issued ID. Additionally concealed carry of a handgun requires a “shall-issue” license which, effective Jan. 1, will allow a license holder to open carry under the recently passed law.

But a lot of these types are in our government, that scares the hell out of me. People vote for them, they actually condone what is being said and done on their part. We have some deep idiocy here we need to exterminate by forcing them to learn the actual history of the U.S. and not the right wing version.

if Jesus was to appear today they re-crucify him. they are raised ignorant and prefer to remain that way.

Education is hard t them. That is why I believe the left is more empathetic to the needs of others. I can understand another persons pain and figure out the best way to make something easier for them. For the person on the right to identify with another person and their dilemmas, they would need to critically think and they is way beyond their skill level.

The Onion can’t compete with the insane ideas of the right and the right can’t compete with their Texas branch.

  10. amersham46 November 17th, 2015 at 17:26

paranoia strikes when you are always afraid

  11. majii November 17th, 2015 at 17:53

I’m ROTFLMBO! All it took was the possibility that a few Syrian refugees would settle in TX for this GOP/TP politician to get the idea that some sort of gun control might be a good thing. He can thank the NRA and other gun humping organizations for the predicament the states’ citizens now find themselves in. It seems as if Abbott, he, and the other GOP/TPers who voted for these lax gun control laws don’t want to reap what they’ve sown. HaHaHaHaHa!

  12. Robert Kennedy November 18th, 2015 at 13:42

Oh the irony. But what really needs to be done is to keep Republicans out. Or make it a law that if you own more than one gun and one rifle you have to go fight ISIS.
