At least Rand Paul has tried to do something about the biased treatment of black people in the criminal justice/unjustice system by reaching out to Senator Cory Booker among others to work on sentencing and penalty reform in federal criminal cases. Our modern political practices with their emphasis on shallow, ephemeral issues/non-issues are the problem rather than the individuals running for offices in many, but not all, cases. Some of these charlatans such as Trump, Carson, Huckabee, Cruze, Fiorina, and Jindal, simply stink up the process with their narcissisim while others like Paul, Bush, Graham, Kasich,Pataki,Christie , Santorum, and Rubio appear to be decent people with what I consider flawed philosophies and program positions.
