Trump Adviser To Cooper When Asked About Policy: ‘I Don’t Appreciate This At All’

Posted by | October 21, 2015 11:30 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

Donald Trump adviser Sam Clovis was pressed by Anderson Cooper on why The Donald keeps reversing himself on issues, such as the Afghanistan War. Clovis said he didn’t appreciate this line of questioning saying “I thought we were gonna be talking about policy.”

Cooper told him this is policy he’s talking about, but Clovis still objected:

“I don’t appreciate this at all. I didn’t have any indication that this was where we were gonna be going with this. I thought we were gonna be talking about policy and where we are in the campaign and our polling… If these are the issues you want to bring up, that’s fine, and I’ll let the other commentators comment on it.”

So asking him about his idol’s flip flops on policy isn’t discussing policy, but talking about his position in the polls, as he wanted to do is? Sounds like he wanted a list of questions to approve ahead of time. I can’t wait to get home and listen to this weasel.

With the name of Clovis I am thinking his is the grand uncle of Bevis.

      • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2015 at 12:30

Or he could be a cousin of Cletus, the Slack-Jawed Yokel, from the Simpsons.

        • Suzanne McFly October 21st, 2015 at 12:43

That makes more sense, can’t believe I didn’t think of him first.

          • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2015 at 13:05

            Clovis and Cletus, together again.

Clovis is actually an old latin name. It means “he who likes gravy on everything”.

        • Suzanne McFly October 21st, 2015 at 15:36

Looks like he earned that name and it looks like he proved the meaning to be true.

Just another republican, Sam Clovis (R) who got upset because he was not given the answers to the test beforehand. Maybe he thought he was going to be on with Jake Tapper the “Conservative Crapper” and lickspittle of the republican party who was pointed out as a Trump supporter by non other than Donald Trump himself ., during a Jake Tapper the “Conservative Crapper” interview . Then again this is the republican campaign that Trump’s Thugs, told one reporter to “go back to his own country” (he was Mexican/American) and then Trump’s Thugs caught on tape” spitting” on people at a rally. By the way, notice any resemblance to these Trump republicans and “Hitler’s Henchmen”, they could be even considered separated at birth.

He must be talking about his policy of not talking about policy.
Well, if he doesn’t like the questions then he should answer: ‘oink oink oink ‘

Heh, heh. The GOP is learning that the only way to get rid of Trump is to be a woman turning 40.

His adviser looks and acts exactly how I suspect most of Trumps followers do besides the paid actors who stand behind him at events.

    • Chris October 21st, 2015 at 19:50

He knows better. But you can bet he knows what pleases Trump and is willing to do anything for the money. Yes, you can call him by the label denoting the world’s oldest profession.

Trump and his advisers can’t be too smart because they’re employing the same tactic that Romney/Ryan used in 2012. It’s known as the “I’ll tell you later after I’m in office” tactic.

Jeez! Would you just LOOK at that guy? Tell me that’s not a Halloween costume!

  14. Chris October 21st, 2015 at 19:48

FYI: Sam Clovis previously headed up Perry’s Iowa effort, at which time he was not exactly Trump’s #1 Fan:

From the Des Moines Register 8/26/15:
“(Trump) left me with questions about his moral center and his foundational beliefs. … His comments reveal no foundation in Christ, which is a big deal,” evangelical conservative activist Sam Clovis said in an email just 35 days before he quit his job as Republican Rick Perry’s Iowa chairman and signed on with Trump’s campaign.

Clovis is a gun-for-hire fundamentalist. Yeah, he sold his soul. Ironic, ain’t it?

when a bloated piece of lard is a representative, one has to assume that gluttony of a dimension heretofore unknown to the world of politics is afoot. Couldn’t resist – one does not get this way by being conscientious or considerate or just plain sane.
