Huckabee: Boycott Frito-Lay For Rainbow Doritos, But Chick-Fil-A Was ‘Economic Terrorism’

Posted by | October 5, 2015 16:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Mike Huckabee said he’d never boycott a company because he didn’t like its politics. But that was before he ran for president as a culture warrior.

Huckabee came to Chick-fil-A’s defense after the restaurant chain faced criticism for its founder’s anti-gay statements and for donations the company’s foundation had made to anti-gay groups. Huckabee organized a “Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day” in an attempt to block what he described as “economic terrorism” targeting the company. On his Fox News show, he said he would never call for a boycott of Starbucks, Apple or Amazon even though he disagrees with their leaders’ politics.

Huckabee, however, seems to have changed his tune on culture-war boycotts. Time reports that Huckabee has “called on Christians to boycott all snacks made by” Frito Lay after it released limited edition Rainbow Doritos to benefit the anti-bullying It Gets Better Project. Huckabee had demanded that the group apologize and cut its ties with Dan Savage, who founded the anti-bullying group.

This asshole has forfeited any reason anyone ever had for listening to him. He makes sh*t up to fit his narrow opinions, he panders to one small group of bigots. Who in the world convinced this nobody he ever had a chance to be president? He couldn’t qualify as president of the AV club at the nerdiest high school in the country. I’m sick of listening to him. Enough already.

Sorry, my response to this a—e is awaiting moderation. Spam lasts for hours, but I’m waiting for an ok…

  3. Larry Schmitt October 5th, 2015 at 16:38

So since he is against a product that supports an anti-bullying project, that means he is for bullying? That’s good to know.

    • Suzanne McFly October 5th, 2015 at 17:56

I bet he likes rumpster and would quickly accept a VP pic is he was offered one, so he is definitely supporting the bullies in his party.

I thought the Rainbow Doritos was a great idea – will buy some as soon as I see them in a local store. Sorry Huck-a-Muck!!

    • Kick Frenzy October 6th, 2015 at 01:34

(Sorry, it was a limited edition (not sold in stores) and they’re all sold out.)
(Which is both a bummer and a “yay”.)

Telling the fat, trailer trash audience of the GOP not to eat Doritos is wasting your breath, Mr. Huckabee. What next? No jerking off to Sarah Palin either?!

    • nola878 October 5th, 2015 at 17:17

This guy’s so excited to meet Sarah he just can’t hide it!

That’s a small tent. I don’t think an insect could use that tent.

        • Larry Schmitt October 5th, 2015 at 18:09

Probably the biggest one he’s ever pitched.

Poor guy, sarah should take one for the team and when I say one, I really mean one inch.

I try not to find humor in the various foibles that we, as mammals, display on a daily basis despite being the(arguably) most evolved species on the planet; jealousy, anger, cognitive dissonance, stiffies when meeting a political candidate, …

        I often fail.

It’s a lofty goal, but when something’s funny, it’s funny.

She does have a way of making the blood flow, doesn’t she? I can only imagine the Megyn Kelly creeps out there…

Did you notice that he has something stuffed into his pocket to try to hide it?

Never look to Huckabee for consistency. He doesn’t care about how hypocritical he is in anything because his crowd never calls him to account.

He certainly is not running for president anymore; I just haven’t figured out whether he’s still jonesing for a Fox gig or what.

  7. jasperjava October 5th, 2015 at 18:38

I can see why your comment went to moderation, but if anything you’re not being harsh enough on Fuckabee.

Don’t pull your punches, let us know how you truly feel.

    • F_cons October 5th, 2015 at 19:07

Thanks, I see it was finally allowed. If I actually said what I want to, I’m sure it would be removed.

  8. amersham46 October 5th, 2015 at 19:09

It is time for Huckebee to just leave , he has nothing worth listening to

    • granpa.usthai October 6th, 2015 at 00:29

I’m thinking like cecilia – if Huckie’s for it…. (go with your inspirations)

An interesting contrast in ideologies can be seen in boycott petitions.

Conservatives call for boycotts against companies and broadcasts that promote compassion, whereas progressives champion boycotts against companies and broadcasts that espouse intolerance.

And of course, when conservatives boycott a business for supporting progressive causes, said boycott is a righteous act of patriotism.
When progressives carry out a boycott, it’s a socialistic act of cowardice and an unpatriotic attack on capitalism.

I don’t normally eat Doritos but if it bugs that pedo-lover I may be inspired to look for some of those rainbow chips

    • granpa.usthai October 6th, 2015 at 00:27

I like the ‘hint of lime’ with guacamole dip, but willing to try the rainbow just so long as I’m not the only one.

    • LoisB October 6th, 2015 at 09:14

I don’t eat Doritos at all but as soon as I see the rainbow chips, I am going to buy a couple of bags.

      • cecilia October 6th, 2015 at 13:02
