Far Right-Wing Republicans Set Sights On McConnell

Now that John Boehner is out, far-right Republicans may continue their takeover attempt by going after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

(AP Photo/J. Scott Applewhite)

…Boehner’s move seemed only to embolden the hardliners. Several on Capitol Hill and off suggested that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., would be their next target, and the group Tea Party Patriots began circulating a petition calling for his removal.

McConnell had pledged that the GOP Congress would show voters that Republicans can govern in the runup to the 2016 elections. But conservatives complain that the GOP takeover of the Senate this year has not yielded results, and now a House run by less-proven leaders may test McConnell’s promise once more.

“Mitch McConnell is infinitely worse as a leader than Boehner. He surrenders at the sight of battle every time,” said Rep. Matt Salmon, R-Ariz., one of the rebels. “We made a lot of promises to the American people that if we took the Senate that we would do certain things and those things have not been accomplished.”

The country needs to see more of the rightwing ‘conservative Christian’ hypocrites. It’s time for you to go Turtle Man McConnell. It was time for Boehner to leave. Now the Tea Party is in control, Democrats are ready to fight the war on women, gay rights, Shariah Law stupidity, etc.

  5. StoneyCurtisll September 27th, 2015 at 14:30

Who does the far right wing Teabagger party want for Speaker of the House…
George Lincoln Rockwell, thats who…(I know he is dead but)..

This is the Tea Party agenda on display…
And they just came one step closer when they took down the speaker of the house..

The Morning Oregonian Feb. 26, 1870 (after the swearing in of senator Revels the first black senator)

“Whyfore is this thus?” Can such things be? Is this article in the New
York World a forgery, or an optical illusion? Is it possible that the
Washington representative of that distinguished Caucasian journal has
actually besought an interview with the negro who has been sent to the
United States Senate from Mississippi? It would seem so, if we can trust our eyes; and it would further seem that the correspondent became bewildered by the fascinating presence—magnetized into a renunciation of the great leading “principles” of Democracy. He actually visited the Senatorial Simian at the residence of “the colored President of the Freedman’s bank,” where, although a “social party” was in progress, the correspondent failed to detect any overpoweringly obnoxious odor. He stood it. His handkerchief did not envelope the facial promontory wherein dwell the alert olfactories. He took an inventory of the features of the sable successor of Jeff. Davis, and found that he had “a decidedly African, but pleasant physiognomy.” He was tickled almost to death when “the Senator” condescended to sit for five minutes and answered his dismal questions; and he asked him almost everything except whether the hollow of his foot made a hole in the ground. He observed his curly hair, and saw in it on disqualification; he noticed that he was pretty black, and remembered that it was a complexion to be euphemistically referred to as the rich olive of the South; he made a note of the conspicuous nose, and declared that he looked “as benignant and philosophical as one could wish”; he took a sketch of the Senegambian skull and pulpy lips, and discerned therein a sign that “he may flame out as a raging orator on the Senate floor.”

beware what you say, when you say it and to whom you say it…
There are people much more intelligent than you think you are.

        • Cave quid dicis September 27th, 2015 at 20:47

Or you can plead the fifth, because some people aren’t as smart as they believe themselves to be. You like those dirty socialists?

            Oh…..
            And……..

          • Robert Kennedy September 29th, 2015 at 15:42

Socialists are there for the people, capitalists are there for themselves alone. So who are the “dirty” ones again?

            • Cave quid dicis September 29th, 2015 at 19:50

Socialism is for the masses, not the socialist.

      • Robert Kennedy September 29th, 2015 at 15:40

Are you trying to convince people that Nazis were socialists? God, are you that stupid. I suppose the Democratic people’s Republic of China was democratic (small d) and not Communist like. Or are you so dumb you think democracy is communism?

        • Cave quid dicis September 29th, 2015 at 19:55

All of the great people’s movements call themselves “democratic.” The National Socialists have more in common with today you than any TPr.

          • Robert Kennedy September 29th, 2015 at 20:34

Are you insane or just ignorant? It may also be stupidity I guess. Nazism is a right wing thing, and the current Republican party isn’t very far from it. Google 14 points of Fascism and see how wrong you are.

            • Cave quid dicis September 29th, 2015 at 21:18

Big government is still big government.

              • Robert Kennedy September 30th, 2015 at 00:59

But some governments work for the people and some work against the people. When they work FOR the people size is good, especially in the regulatory sense and small government gets you killed.

                • Cave quid dicis September 30th, 2015 at 09:05

Surely you jest, if you think our leviathan really has your interests at heart. The media as you call it is the propaganda front for the D&C. The only thing the Democrats ever cut is military spending until the next big messy war comes along.

  7. Robert Kennedy September 27th, 2015 at 15:44

Granted, McConnell isn’t worth the powder to blow him to Hell, but whoever replaces him would be infinitely worse.

          • Cave quid dicis September 29th, 2015 at 10:00

            “Troll” is a dullard’s retort.

            • bpollen September 29th, 2015 at 14:59

For reals? Without exception? Even when it is accurate? Reading your posts leaves one with the impression that you just love to attack people personally when you are challenged on your statements. In five statements, you directly attacked 5 different people. “Not a troll, but an incredibly thin-skinned exact facsimile!~”

I get the impression that you are bestowed with that “troll” label a lot.

              • Cave quid dicis September 29th, 2015 at 19:57

Not often and only by people who hide on safe threads to protect their delicate psyche.

                • tracey marie September 29th, 2015 at 20:31

very often, you troll sites that have not banned you

                  • Cave quid dicis September 29th, 2015 at 21:24

You still have nothing. All I did was comment that Harry and Mitch looked a lot alike and that they were way beyond drinking Kool Aid. Maybe this site should have been named “Gruber’s groupers” instead?

                    • bpollen September 30th, 2015 at 04:24

Again, whining and pointing fingers. Sniff… I feel so bad for your feewings…

The best way to ingratiate yourself on a site is sniveling and insulting people. If you’re a troll…

                    • Cave quid dicis September 30th, 2015 at 09:20

Ingratiating oneself is not necessary. But if it will make you feel better I’ll apologize for inferring that your hero, Mitch, was a Barry Bathwater zombie. You can dry your tears now.

                    • bpollen September 30th, 2015 at 16:03

Wow. Putting words into someone’s mouth that doesn’t resemble anything actually said (I LIKE turtles, but don’t worship them) as a means of insulting them. Do mommy and daddy know you are sneaking onto the internet without child filters?

                    • Cave quid dicis September 30th, 2015 at 18:47

If you can’t take it, don’t use it.

Hahahaha. What a tool. Which one of us is questioning the other’s sexuality? Wouldn’t that be YOU, Jeane? Because my limited prog mental prowess on my worst day ever, full of tequila and quaaludes, obviously leaves you resorting to epithets. Way to go all petulant middle-schooler! What’s next on your agenda? I would hazard a guess that you will go with the old standby: “I know you are, but what am I.” And that knocks ’em dead at recess, eh?

                    • Cave quid dicis October 1st, 2015 at 09:42

You asked for a reading you got one. Now as the skeptic it’s up to you to disprove what the spirit world has revealed about you. Wait here is some more, I see you consummating your nuptials with a fudge stick fiesta.
Also I can not give you advice as to what thrills children at recess. I can advise you to quit cruising the playgrounds because I foresee a mob of angry parents showing up at your domicile with hot tar and feathers.

                    • bpollen October 1st, 2015 at 15:18

More attacks on my sexuality. Talk about having nothing left intellectually….

I’ve dis-proven your reading, Jeane. Since you are a seer, you should be able to “see” that proof. If you can’t, well that serves as pretty conclusive proof that you are as bereft Psychically as you are intellectually.

When all you have left is attacking (baselessly, I might add, which must be well trod territory for you) your opponents for their sexuality, you have obviously already shot you intellectual wad all over the keyboard

And, just as an aside, I graduated from 6th grade and have some memory of what is was like. Either you are an amnesiac, or you didn’t graduate the 6th grade. Based on the meager intellectual quiver you display, you haven’t obtained even Jethro Bodine’s level of education.

                    • bpollen September 30th, 2015 at 16:00

All old white guys with glasses look alike?

To paraphrase your Trollish (an ancient and juvenile language):

“You stupid-heads be mean to me! Quit insulting me, you groupers!”

                    • Cave quid dicis September 30th, 2015 at 18:54

“Stupid head” is your own choice of words, though it is a very apt description of you limited prog mental prowess. As for calling you one of “Gruber’s gullible groupers”, it is also a very apt title for a site dedicate to liberal group think.

                    • bpollen October 1st, 2015 at 05:25

Calling the people who come here fish? Since you are here also, what kind of little fishie are you?

According to the ads, 99.999% of ichthyologists say your are fulla crap.

                    • Cave quid dicis October 1st, 2015 at 10:03

You really are daft if it must be explained to you. How about stormgroupers then? Kind of has nice collectivist, totalitarian, and statist appeal to it. Stormgroupers of the North American Democratic Socialist Party or NADSP for short. Now even Bernie has a place to caucus… oh wait he already does. Maybe that’s why D&C chairperson Wasserkopf-Schitz can’t explain the difference anymore.

                    • bpollen October 1st, 2015 at 16:03

Well, frankly, I find that people are, without exception, are not fish. Don’t know of mermaids either. And adding a word in front of a fish name still is calling people fish that ichthyologists agree are not fish (there is that one ichthyologist, but he’s been committed for decades…)

Once again, little man, you have not fact one to support any damn thing you say. My psychic powers say that you live under the bridge that goes across the retainment pond to the main sewage treatment plant.

You are a SAVAGE Nerf Warrior!

Not a fact. Bring it if you happen to stumble over a fact during your troll adventures. Until then, have fun at the kiddie-table.

You’ve provided no facts or proof at all. You could have been strumming your banjo for all anyone knows.

                    • bpollen October 4th, 2015 at 02:11

You still have no facts of your own. As far as my banjo-pickin’ is concerned, that shoulda been covered in the reading you did, Jeane. Either talking out of your ass about your clairvoyance, or lying about what you actually saw in your “reading” or “seance” or “seizure” or “drug-induced delirium.” Pick one. You look bad either way.

If you ARE clairvoyant, you saw my proof. If you AREN’T clairvoyant, then I don’t have to prove that made up bullshite isn’t accurate. The onus is on the bullshitter to prove his claims.

So, back to the kiddie table with you. Whining and no facts.

                    • Cave quid dicis October 4th, 2015 at 09:02

You were the one who imbued me with the power of prognostication and I have provided the readings that you had requested. But, you have failed repeatedly to provide any proof or documentation to contradict it, other than to say you had “it” in your hand. This is a public forum so the evidence you must show is not for me but for everyone else. Oh, and that was strumming not picking, there is a difference.

                    • bpollen October 4th, 2015 at 18:33

You were the one who imbued me with the power of prognostication and I have provided the readings that you had requested

                      Let’s check that shall we?

When I said you probably were called troll often, this is your response:

Not often and only by people who hide on safe threads to protect their delicate psyche.

You are claiming to know what they do, why they do it, and the state of their psyche. Since you don’t have any tangible way of knowing any of those things, you are either a) talking out of your ass or b) claiming superpowers.

NO FACTS + LIES = KIDDIE TABLE

                    • whatthe46 October 4th, 2015 at 18:45

“NO FACTS + LIES = KIDDIE TABLE” = conserv/repug, no surprise there.

                • bpollen September 30th, 2015 at 04:16

Really? For real for real? You now claim to be clairvoyant or telepathic so you know exactly where people who call you a troll spend their time when on the interwebs?

                  “I’m not a troll, but I AM Jeane Dixon~!”

Color me skeptical. I’ve seen evidence that accusations of “troll” are apt to be spot on, and seen zero evidence of the awesome psychic powers you claim (chortle!) to possess. OK, Jeane, what am I thinking now?

                  • Cave quid dicis September 30th, 2015 at 09:00

                    Strawman

                    • bpollen September 30th, 2015 at 15:54

You can hardly call it a strawman argument when YOU claimed clairvoyance. YOU claimed to not be a troll (in spite of abundant evidence to the contrary) and claimed to know where anonymous people on the intertubes hang outl

So, you claim not to be a troll while behaving exactly like a troll (hypocrisy, double standards, whining, name-calling), you claim to have PSYCHIC POWERS, and claim that it’s the OTHER guy who is using strawman arguments (“people who hide on safe threads to protect their delicate psyche.”)

Cave quid dicis – “Beware what you say.” Bet you don’t see the irony of such an alias when you post stupid, insulting, fact-free whines that wouldn’t fool anyone over five. I think “Ego sum stultus” would be much much much more appropriate.

                    • Cave quid dicis September 30th, 2015 at 18:56

Alright I’ll give you a reading. You are thinking how happy you are that you can finally get married.

                    • bpollen October 1st, 2015 at 05:23

Geez, Jeane (Ms. Dixon if you’re nasty) you are RIGHT! I am really happy that my wife and I will be able to get married 35 years. Spot on, there, Ms. Dixon.

Or are you trying to imply I am gay? Wooooo! (to quote that great sage and thinker, Ric Flair.) Shows you are really, really insecure, feeling the heat, and have nothing left but going middle school and calling me gay. Also shows that TROLL was an exceptionally precise description of you. tracey marie had you nailed on your FIRST post.

I beg to differ. But when all is said and done, you think implying repeatedly that I am gay (you need better insults) is NICE? I think, even if you are right (yeah, like THAT’LL happen) and I am being nasty to you, what about your juvenile, whiny, and insulting behavior would deserve more?

if you come across an actual and verifiable fact during one of your seances that is ALSO pertinent to Republicans vs. McConnell, bring it. Until then, I will just hang out here at the adult table. You and the other tweeners at the kiddie-table can commiserate with each other over how tough it is because nobody understands you, and how scary going to high-school is gonna be

Way to show your stupidity. Still not a fact.

Find a fact, then we’ll talk. Until then, enjoy recess.

Latin. You know, that language your “nom de plume” is in? Means something totally different in Spanish. And you couldn’t have translated it from Spanish because it IS NOT Spanish. You either show your ignorance, or a middle-school sense of humor.

Off to the kiddie table with you!

as it is said, elections have consequences

both Boehner and McConnell have not been listening to the people who voted the Repubs a majority in Congress and Senate

of course they both have to go..nothing ‘right wing’ about it

Boehner left saying his main job was to ‘protect the institution’ of congress

what a fool..he doesn’t even understand his job it to be the representative of the voters and do what they elected him to do

  13. SkeeterVT September 28th, 2015 at 13:04

While Mitch McConnell’s tenure as Senate Majority Leader is now under a cloud, unlike John Boehner, McConnell doesn’t have to face the voters back home in Kentucky until 2020, having won another six-year-term last November.

And unlike the House, there are far fewer hard-line right-wingers in the Senate Republican caucus. That’s because unlike their counterparts in the House, who come from safe districts (Districts that, in my opinion, have essentially become conservative white ghettoes, thanks to the gerrymandering of House district lines after the 2010 Census), senators must run statewide and face larger — and much more diverse — electorates.

Because of this — and the fact that 19 of the 32 senators up for re-election next year are Republicans — The Democrats are in a much better position to take back control of the Senate. There’s no chance the Dems can take back control of the House until after the post-2020 Census redistricting.

By that time, the GOP will likely have imploded — just as the Whig Party they replaced imploded in 1852. The Whigs self-destructed over slavery. The Republicans are on the brink of self-destructing over immigration (Not to mention their disgusting treatment of President Obama).

The common denominator: Race and ethnicity. The slaves were African-American. The vast majority of today’s immigrants are people of color from Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. And Obama is the nation’s first black president.

Today’s GOP looks more and more like the Democrats of the Civil War era: Almost lily-white, overwhelmingly conservative and predominantly Southern. But today’s hard-liners are taking the Republican Party down a dangerous path toward outright fascism — and for that reason, I predict that the GOP will self-destruct by the 2020 presidential election, if not sooner.

Congress is becoming The Dance of the Marionettes , but who are far right wingers that are pulling the strings

    • byronmullet September 29th, 2015 at 11:26

Your question : “who are far right wingers that are pulling the strings”? Answer: The Framers of the Constitution. You know those people from the “conservative white ghettoes” mentioned in the comment below yours. Believe it or not this is what motivates most conservative voters. When you marginalize our representatives you marginalize us. When you try to character assassinate them you are attacking us needlessly. America would be better served if you would stick to the facts. Fact one: Both party’s have indebted our grandkids with an 18 trillion dollar debt with bandaid programs for all of the social engineering run amok they both have done. The evidence is in now. America and the west can no longer afford the non-Christian world we have all created. Fact two: The wanton destruction of the family unit and the need for social programs to “fix” it have had generational implications. Fact three: The wanton murder of the unborn has left an indelible scar on the conscience, character and soul of our nation. As a result, bereft of soul our political party’s haggle and fight over the scraps on the political beaches of our nation, oblivious of the financial tsunami about to engulf them and all of us…

“who are far right wingers that are pulling the strings”? Answer: The Framers of the Constitution.
        Actually no.
        Those guys are dead.
Besides they were rich white slave owners who didn’t want to pay taxes. They didn’t let women, African Americans or native Americans vote. Essentially they slanted the system for rich property owners. In fact, if Jefferson was alive today he would be at the very least a lifetime member of the sex offender list.
Just keep posting those Glenn Beck bumper stickers. Nothings spins up ‘Muricans more than a nice rant that smacks of “founding fathers” and baby blood. Never forget. It was a conservative supreme court that ruled on Roe Vs Wade. Further Nixon signed the bill giving federal money to planned parenthood.

        • Robert Kennedy September 29th, 2015 at 15:34

And only a few of them were conservatives who basically supported England. Washington, recognizing the truth said he hoped America would always remain liberal. Conservatism is a death march.

      • bpollen September 29th, 2015 at 14:50

And can you prove any of your assertions?

        I thought not.

        • William September 29th, 2015 at 14:54

But….but…he listed his rant as “facts”. Heck he even numbered them. What more do you need?

          • bpollen September 29th, 2015 at 15:27

            1. He claims agency by Gawd without proof of existence of Gawd.
            2. He says that we can’t sustain Amerikkka unless we all be Christian. Which has NEVER been the case, and we have over 200 years under our belt.
            3. “Wanton destruction.” Load the language, then make unfounded assertions about destruction of the family (mine hasn’t been destroyed… and the number of households increased by 1 million between 2010-2014)
            4. The totally “unfactual” assertion that social programs attempt to “fix” the family. Not sure Social Security, Medicare, Food Stamps, etc. aim to “fix” the family. Provide for housing, food, health care for individuals, yes. “Fix” the family? Only in some ranter’s imagination.
            5. “We have forgotten the formula for freedom.” Sorry, I have to see some evidence of this “formula.” Who had it? Why was it suppressed?
6.”It is the gift from the Creator who endows us with our rights based on his laws.” Assumes facts not in evidence. No proof of Gawd, and no proof that he actually HAS laws.
7″ These laws were as obvious as the laws of nature a generation ago.” These uncorroborated laws given by an unproven entity… yeah, of course EVERYBODY a generation ago knew all about the “obvious” Higgs-Boson even before it was discovered!
            8. “But now near sighted and bereft of soul…” Again, assuming facts with no evidence of their existence. America is near sighted? You’d think that even Rand Paul would find that noteworthy. And a soul? No evidence supports this.
7.”oblivious of the social and financial tsunami about to engulf them and all of us” Move over Nostradamus, there’s a new seer in town! Who says that finances and social something or other will create massive ocean waves. Color me skeptical.
            8. He’s intimately familiar with nursery rhymes.

And Gawd says that “thou shalt battle numbered lists by thine own numbered list. So sayeth the Lord.”
