Republican Congress Increases Chance Of Government Shutdown

Posted by | September 13, 2015 07:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics

Republicans want to die (and have the rest of the government die) on the Planned Parenthood hill.

A measure that blocks funding for Planned Parenthood would almost certainly lack the votes to pass the Senate, and would be vetoed by President Obama. But Republicans in the House don’t have enough GOP votes to approve a funding measure that continues funding for Planned Parenthood, and don’t want to negotiate with Democrats.

Conservatives headed to their districts on Friday expressing certainty that they would force GOP leaders to include a hold on Planned Parenthood funding.

And as in past funding fights, they insisted it would be the Democrats and President Obama who would be blamed for a shutdown.

“Will the president shut down and defund the troops in order to fund Planned Parenthood?” said Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.). “I don’t think he’s that politically stupid, but we shall see.”

So, they’re willing, once again to shut down the government and blame it on Democrats. No one bought that last time, either.

There have been multiple investigations of Planned Parenthood in multiple states, all of which have found that Planned Parenthood did nothing wrong and have been in full compliance with the law. What part of that do these GOP pricks refuse to comprehend?

      Every part…???

They make up their own facts to fit the desired outcome. They’re guilty because we say they’re guilty. Proof? Never mind the proof. Just keep shouting the same claims louder and louder, you’ll drown out the facts.

Republicans have a long history of lying. They figured out if you lie often enough and loud enough it becomes ‘the truth’ to a ton of ill-informed people.

And we all know the biggest lie is the most believable, right? That’s why, whenever I’m late for an appointment and they ask me about it I reply: “Um, I’m going to go with Alien Abduction.” Works every time.

I have suggested ways for the pentagon to cut the cost of technology while increasing services to vets….but they didn’t bite….you can’t cut funding for pp it’s essential…..women’s health is the complete foundation to the health of the nation…if they don’t have these services they aren’t going to be able to take care of their families because they can’t take care of themselves….it’s just a line you can’t cross….why would anyone want to cut health care for the population that is responsible for taking care of an entire nation……we can shrink DOD and still be the biggest military in the world…it’s a no brainer….GOP=DOMESTIC TERRORISTS, FIRE THE GOP, DEPORT THE GOP

Maggie, you’re right, what if we had only 12 aircraft carriers instead of 13, and used the money for health care? Or stopped building airplanes that the Pentagon didn’t want or need (F-35) and use that for Planned Parenthood, women’s health and hospitals, and the welfare of our citizens. Instead, Crazy Ted and his friends haven’t learned anything from their $24B shutdown last time.

What they look like has nothing to do with it. This is more a “what they ARE” issue.
