Elton John Wants To Talk Gay Rights With Putin

Sir Elton John wants to talk to Vladimir Putin about his “ridiculous” views on gays.

Speaking to the BBC, Sir Elton said he would welcome talks with Mr Putin even though “he may laugh behind my back… and call me an absolute idiot”.

The musician is currently in Ukraine.

He met Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and called for the country to give stronger support to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-sexual (LGBT) community.

Sir Elton also met with business leaders to call on them to not turn away LGBT employees.

    hey if he can influence one or two other influential people in russia or the uk it can have an small impact…one step at a time….that is how you make progress….there are never any big leaps….

    I think that, if you tried to talk gay rights to Putin’s face, he’d knock your teeth out. He seems to be more of a fighter than a talker.

      Usually guys like him (Putin) are closet gays. I wouldn’t be surprised as most politicians who have such visceral hate for gays are usually gay. Putin just needs to accept that he does not need to be a Dictator and Hate in order to make up for his self insecurities.

        Russia runs a lot differently than the North American nation, or most other European nations. Russian citizens don’t have the same level of authority as United States, Mexican or Canadian citizens. They ARE more of a dictatorship, than a democratic republic. Whether he’s “insecure” or not, he calls the tune and murders those who won’t dance to it. That’s not going to change, any time soon.

    Sir Elton, love you! However, you must be realistic, Putin is so homophobic, I will be surprised that he will be in the same room as you or allow you in his country. Last I checked it was illegal to be gay in Russia.
