(Psst… the “Read On” 404s. I used the “during a speech…” link instead and that works.)

I love this “lame duck” president. :)

I know right? We have to go back a long ways before we find a President who kicked so much ass in his second term. Dubya, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon were all hampered by irrelevance and/or scandal.

After reading, commenting, listening to stuff about Sanders for awhile before getting to this comment… it makes me think, Sanders would probably be a powerful “lame duck” as well. :)

During WW II, the AXIS powers, Germany, Italy, and Japan, set out an agenda to control and dominate the working class people so as to have total control. Their number ONE objective was to destroy The Peoples ORGANIZED LABOR Movements. Wake up people. Organized labor is NOT bad. Now, nation wide unions that are corrupted with power, YES. But Local Unions are not only Good for the workers but are the best thing to ever happen to business. Many Union Programs bring trained, competent, safe, and reliable workers to the work force. America needs a Good labor force that knows and does their jobs.

The main ‘nation wide’ union that is/was corrupt was the Teamsters due to organized crime getting a foothold in that unions retirement funds. Most national unions are cleanly ran and honest. Even when unions turn in corrupt leaders, the Republicans use that as examples of ‘union corruption’.

was, the teamsters are no longer the 50-70’s Union.

True, some union leaders are being pushed into listening to the workers and putting down their cocktail glasses.

Many of the nation wide unions have an upper level management problem. My son lead the push to throw out their union because they could not get a new contract from the union for another 2 1/2 years. The company wanted to increase pay but was at the top of the union contract. My son met with three of the national leaders and one flat told him that he had never heard of their company. Their company has now, post union, given the workers a pay raise every three months so as to bring them up to a living wage level. Even though they had put requests in to the Union Bosses to meet with them, they were ignored EXCEPT to get the DUES collected. I do believe in organized labor, but keep it local.

Many who don’t like unions don’t probably realize that they are actually enjoying the fruits of unionism at their work or just too dumb, ungrateful bastards.

      Definitely !

It’s the latter, dumb and ungrateful. I have a neighbor who retired at age 48 from the city water department with a enviable pension. He is a rabidly right wing nut.
i just shake my head and walk away.
