As the media shakes off its collective hangover from the political nerd equivalent of a Toga Party, the headlines about Thursday night’s GOP debate have followed some predictable trajectories. Donald Trump was the big winner (unless you’re a butthurt Republican Party shill), and Carly Fiorina was the only candidate to grow legs and emerge from the oozing primordial swamp that was the so-called “Happy Hour Debate,” and John Kasich is just as viable a candidate as Jon Huntsman was in 2012.

Lost in all that hubbub was the fact that Thursday night’s record debate audience of 25 million heard Scott Walker say this…READ MORE

To repeat, he’s not pro-life, he’s pro-fetus. As simple as that.

I don’t think he is pro-anything. I believe he is just plain hateful.

So women are simply carriers to walker.

my jaw dropped. popcorn with slobber and all just oozed out from my bottom lip. he’s done. not that he had a chance. but, damn. save her life, she still has another chance of giving birth at another time. so, i guess, being a motherless child is fine by him.

      • Tommie August 7th, 2015 at 22:12

Of course, he will have another reason to complain about people wanting handouts and if it is a child, who cares? SHAMEFUL!!

Im still trying to digest your description here. Give me a minute.

There wouldn’t be a motherless child…there’d just be a dead mother with a dead fetus inside of her. If the fetus were viable, they’d deliver it and the mother would be treated. In this case, they’d terminate the pregnancy to save the mother. There would be a live woman not a dead woman and fetus.

        • whatthe46 August 8th, 2015 at 12:25

not if she can carry as far as she can and the baby is viable when or if she goes into labor. there are many women that die during childbirth who do choose to carry knowing they could die.

          • thinkingwomanmillstone August 8th, 2015 at 14:20

That’s a choice that the woman makes…not one made for her by the government.

            • whatthe46 August 8th, 2015 at 14:23

right. her choice. but, what the RW/GOP rubio wants is for abortion to not be given to a woman even if it is the case that it may cause her death. that is the govt. making that decision. and if a woman doesn’t want to carry, he is saying she has no choice. and it’s not any of his business or anyone elses for that matter.

              • thinkingwomanmillstone August 8th, 2015 at 14:25

Which was my point in saying that they’d rather have a dead mother with a fetus inside of her than an alive mother who had an abortion to save her life.

What is sick is he said this to get support from the base, people think this is a good thing.

    • The Original Just Me August 7th, 2015 at 23:51

I do like to appreciate, admire, and enjoy women. I guess that is why I could never be a Republican.

Like the Catholic church, Scott Walker believes the only way it’s okay for a fetus to die is if the mother dies with it. If a woman is brutally beaten and conceives as a result of a gang rape, she should be FORCED to give birth – so she’ll have a constant reminder, for the rest of her life, of what a slut and a whore she really is.

  5. Kick Frenzy August 8th, 2015 at 02:38

“Other alternatives” to preserve the life of the mother… that are proven?
What the hell are you talkin’ ’bout, Walker?!?

Are you suggesting we should be doing womb transplants to save mothers and babies?
While that’s all well and good if you have a crystal ball, but it doesn’t mean crap when that mother is weeks/days/hours from succumbing to whatever complications cause her death.

Also, nobody said anything about Hillary… this was a question to you about what you would do.
And you never even answered that part.
You just deflected and attacked, without providing anything substantial.

    douchebag

Like a lot of things it’s about control. Claiming moral high ground, casting doubt, the good old days, etc. It keeps people divided and a divided people are much easier to lie and mislead into an agenda that benefits the few.

Sounds like he’s been reading right out of the “Abortion and Miscarriage” section of the Republican Playbook, which was co-authored by Todd Akin and Mike Huckabee.
