Ex-Senator: U.S. Should Hang Snowden

Former Georgia Senator Saxby Chambliss says the United States should publicly hang Edward Snowden if he ever comes back home.

“We need to hang him on the courthouse square as soon was we get our hands on him,” retired Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-Ga.) — who served as vice chairman of the powerful intelligence panel before stepping down from Congress last year — said during an appearance at the University of Georgia this month.

“I hope none of you have any sympathy for him,” he told students at the Terry College of Business.

The comments reflect the animosity that many national security hawks on Capitol Hill and within the government feel for Snowden, who has sought refuge in Russia for the last two years to avoid U.S. espionage charges.

Federal officials say that Snowden’s revelations about the scope of spying by the National Security Agency (NSA) and other agencies have risked Americans’ lives and helped foreign extremists to avoid detection.

Chambliss’s remarks came during a discussion about the major theft of 22 million people’s datafrom the Office of Personnel Management. The stolen information serves as a veritable gold mine for the hackers, government officials say, by handing them reams of personal data about government workers, agents and their friends and family.

“Just like with Snowden, we’re going to lose American lives as result of this breach,” Chambliss said.

Former senator and ” intelligence panel vice chairman ” phhhhhht! What an a–hole! Hanging? WTH! Next it’ll be burning at the stake or some other medieval nonsense, whatever, he’s still an a–hole and Snowden is still the preemptive whistleblower of this century. And smarter than Chambliss even in his dreams.

There’s nothing more dangerous than the truth, especially for those that speak it.

I think he believes there is some sort of competition for republicans and who can say the stupidest thing. I can’t imagine why he thinks such a competition exists.

Maybe we can start with cheney, hang him for outing Valerie Plama and putting over 22 operatives at risk. Then we can move onto rummy and bush the little, their lies and killing of all those Iraqies surely deserve a hanging or two. While I do not agree with snowden and believe he is a puss who fled to Russia, hanging is a bit over the top for the average person but we know the rw neo cons are not average or normal but blood thirsty assholes.

Even so, “Saxby Chambliss” would be a cool band name.

Could the hanging be delayed long enough for patriotic, freedom-loving Americans to give Snowdon a parade?

Now Sen., would that be the same courthouse square where possibly, some of your relatives bought, sold and traded human beings?

How about we tie a “confederate” flag around your neck, peckerwood?

Look on the bright side: at least he isn’t calling for Snowden to be dragged to the place of execution, flayed, broken on the wheel, disembowled and left on display for a month. Progress!
