President Obama would like to visit Iran before his time in the White House is up.

    Nixon went to China in 1972. China is an atheist nation practicing forced mandatory abortions. Just 20 years before Nixon’s visit, America was in an all out ground war with China in Korea.

    On the overall scale of measuring hostile actions, an embassy takeover 35 years in the past is small potatoes compared to a ground conflict 20 years past in which over 30,000 American soldiers died. So I fail to see what the big deal would be about President Obama visiting Iran. But I have every confidence that the right wing bullsh*t machine will tell us.

    Regardless of how the conservative right may think, the president visiting Iran may help to strengthen relations with, what some perceive as, a hostile country. It may also send a message to Netanyahu that, because he may believe any interaction with Iran will be detrimental to Israel, doesn’t mean we agree.
