Senate Floor 2016 Brawl

A Senate fight on the budget broke out, which can easily be a preview of the 2016 presidential race.

Four GOP senators are trying to gain the upper hand on the commander-in-chief test — Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham — and their competition was on vivid display as the Senate took up a Rubio plan to pump tens of billions of dollars more into the Pentagon budget. Sen. Rand Paul blasted the idea because the new spending wasn’t offset by other cuts. And caught in the middle was Cruz, who’s pitching himself as a fiscal conservative who can appeal to the hawkish and libertarian wings of the GOP but ultimately sided with Rubio and Graham.

In an interview with POLITICO, Paul lambasted his foes for engaging in “reckless” and “irresponsible” behavior, showing that they lacked the “courage” and conviction to rein in the country’s mountain of debt. He said there are now two camps in the GOP primary field: One that cares about the debt, and another that does not.

Rand Paul is delusional if he thinks his colleagues are concerned or unconcerned about debt. Their #1 concern is advancing their political careers. The rest is just political theatrics meant to assist them in accomplishing their primary goal.

Agreed. If by some crazy happenstance, any of the senators in this article end up being president, they won’t care one iota about any debt. They would only care about shoveling as much cash up the economic ladder as possible. Away from our most vulnerable up to the most powerful.

I’m not sure who is more pathetic, these right wing politicians or the citizens clueless enough to support them.

Exactly, they only believe cuts need to be paid for if a democrat purposes them.

it’s not the debt that is the problem, it is the total lack of heart.

How about NOT giving more money to the pentagon, make them use their money wisely. How many trillions must be spent before someone says…wait, what?

It’s like a bunch of little kids arguing about he best way to break their toys and way past time for their constituents to find somebody else.
