How about a little good news for a change?

A New Jersey police officer who was fired after she protected a suspect from being beaten by officers has won her job back. Regina Tasca is the only female, and gay officer on her force to this day and said she was continuously harassed by officers.

More from the Bergen Record:

A Superior Court judge this week ruled that the borough’s first female police officer must be reinstated and given back pay after she was fired following disciplinary proceedings in 2012, The Record reported.

The former mayor, Pat McHale, and then-councilman Tito Jackson should have recused themselves from matters involving Regina Tasca, the fired police officer, according to a ruling by Judge Rachelle Harz.

Jackson was a close friend of borough police Capt. James Sepp, the head of internal affairs during Tasca’s case, according to the ruling. The captain gave Jackson a $30,000 loan when the former official’s home was damaged in a fire, the ruling said.

    Great!
Now when are the collusion charges against McHale and Jackson going to be filed?
(That isn’t THE Tito Jackson, is it?)

It took almost three years to come to this decision? I would want more than back pay. Interest, damages, someone would pay.

Officer Tasca deserves a big fat settlement. Those other so called law enforcement types deserve MAJOR jail time. If honest cops are hounded are harassed, while the slime is allowed to flourish, then you will have a police force that nobody respects or trusts.
