Plus he gets the year of pay, $96,000. You KNOW the chief and his union were negotiating that this whole time. It sickens me that he is being rewarded. Good retirement, nice one year advance. He and those who practiced his “revenue” policing ruined lives of a lot of poor people (going to jail for being a day late on a fine, leading to loosing a crappy paying job because of being stuck in jail for months, leading to increased fines for being late on payments while in jail, after getting out of jail the poverty becomes worse…cycle continues).

It’s sad and sickening, the various cases outlined in the DOJ report is just sickening.

Mayor Knowles said during Chief Jackson’s resignation speech, “The chief is the kind of honorable man you don’t have to go to”. WTF? Is the mayor living in reality? The City Manager (and the Mayor) NOT going to the chief ( to making sure the chief of police is doing his job appropriately) is one of the causes of this whole mess.

An honorable man would not have done the things he did as evidenced in the DOJ investigation results nor would he have encouraged/empowered deceptive behavior in his police department . Also, and honorable man would not have behaved and reacted the way he did in response to the Michael Brown shooting and the investigation of that shooting.

Mayor Knowles, you just made it into my idiot files. You by far are worse as you are empowering Chief Jackson and his actions, subtly suggesting in your speech his behavior is okay…after all…he is an ‘honorable’ man that no one has to go to (i.e. question his actions/supervise him).
