White House Reacts To Chris Christie’s ‘Shut Up’ Comments at CPAC

One of the many ways in which New Jersey Governor and Republican presidential candidick Chris Christie set tongues wagging at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was to try and obscure his RINO stripes with the tough-guy act that’s wearing thinner than a politician who just had lap band surgery. Moderator Laura Ingraham was quizzing Christie about his brusque ways and trademark “sit down and shut up,” and he decided to throw a little shade the White House’s way:

“Sometimes, people need to be told to sit down and shut up. And you know, quite frankly, Laura, some of that stuff should be happening in Washington, D.C., because there’s so much ridiculous stuff been spewed, especially out of the White House, someone should say it’s time to shut up.”

As it happens, this little bit of dick-waving came across my Twitter feed as I was sitting in Thursday’s White House daily briefing. I relayed the Guv’s comments to Press Secretary Josh Earnest, and asked if the White House had any reaction, and what ever happened to the Chris Christie who used to toss footballs with the President on the boardwalk. Here’s his response, followed by my transcript of what Earnest wanted to say…READ MORE

Hey Gov. Christie, did you tell the President to sit down and shut up when you needed federal disaster assistance your right wing home boys were against? jerk…

wasn’t there accusations of federal emergency funds being withheld and misused from the hurricane then?

      • alpacadaddy February 27th, 2015 at 11:52

Yes, and that is STILL so even after all this time. Apparently ‘Christi the Hutt’ has only released a portion of the funds, and the guy that he told to shutup is a NJ homeowner still waiting for relief who was calling him out on it. What a rude clown (perfect for the gopee!)

All of this is nothing more then CPAC grand standing. That is all that CPAC is for, it is designed to insight anger in their base to get the votes. I find it hilarious that all of these guys sit up their and push propaganda that has been proven lies numerous times and their base members are like little babies eating up the pablum definition for any TP/GOP members that read this comment Pablum is, “Trademark. a brand of soft, bland cereal for infants.”

      insight: incite.

The word “insight” has no place in any discussion of CPAC, the GOP, or conservatives in general.

what the fk you raving about?

  6. Warman1138 February 26th, 2015 at 22:22

The president is wonderful person when a conservative needs something, but quickly becomes the opposite when not. Nothing like a smile and a handshake while wielding a backstabber in the other. So Mr. Christie, who should shut up?

  7. William February 27th, 2015 at 00:39

    What an asshat.

  8. fancypants February 27th, 2015 at 01:46

  9. rg9rts February 27th, 2015 at 02:07

So he is trying to justify his loutish behavior….just what the american people need …a POTUS that tells us to sit down and shut up…

    • fahvel February 27th, 2015 at 07:38

strikes me he’s an old fashioned dinosaur without a shred of feeling beyond “look at my gut, it’s shrinking”. Should have put the lap band around his neck.

      • fahvel February 27th, 2015 at 07:39

not to actually kill him but to slow the swallowing process and, best yet, make his voice sound like one of the “chipmonks”
