Ron Paul: ‘Secession…Good News Is It’s Gonna Happen; It’s Happening’

Ron Paul was speaking to the Libertarian Mises Institute.

“I would like to start off by talking about the subject and the subject is secession and, uh, nullification, the breaking up of government, and the good news is it’s gonna happen. It’s happening,” Paul, the father of potential Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul, told a gathering at the libertarian Mises Institute in late January. The event Paul was speaking at was titled “Breaking Away: The Case for Secession.”

Paul said secession would not be legislated by Congress, but would be defacto, predicting “when conditions breakdown…there’s gonna be an alternative.”

“And it’s not gonna be because there will be enough people in the U.S. Congress to legislate it. It won’t happen. It will be defacto. Ya know, you’ll have a gold standard when the paper standard fails and we’re getting awfully close to that. And people will have to resort to taking care of themselves. So when conditions breakdown, ya know, there’s gonna be an alternative. And I think that’s what we’re witnessing.”

so why would they want to have elected officials in the ‘no power’ part of the disintegrated national government?

    it don’t add up!

so, I’s say it’s just another RepubliCON BS scam.

considering the source and those who would follow suit, let them leave – but take nothing with them that may have been provided by the heinous govts funds.

The states are far too interdependent now to break up, that being said… I don’t think we would ever fight another war against a state to force it to *stay* in the *union*.

Texan RWNJs are itching to leave…but the real power is always corporate America and secession is not in their best interest.
