Boehner Prepared To Let DHS Funding Expire And Blame Democrats
Click here for reuse options!Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace repeatedly questioned House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) Sunday morning over the upcoming deadline for Department of Homeland Security funding, which is set to expire at the end of February, just before Congress goes on a week-long recess.The House passed a bill funding the DHS that also contained riders rolling back President Barack Obama’s executive order delaying deportations. Senate Democrats blocked its passage, demanding a “clean” continuing resolution. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said that the ball was back in the House’s court, which was where Wallace found Boehner Sunday morning.
“The House has acted. We’ve done our job,” Boehner said. “Senate Democrats are the ones putting us in this precarious position. And it’s up to Senate Democrats to get their act together.”
Wallace invoked a rising sense of terror threats, and asked if Boehner and Republicans were prepared let the DHS shut down.
“Certainly,” Boehner replied, adding that Senate Democrats “would be to blame.”

Yes, I believe it’s called Republican Circular Logic (an advanced form of Projection). It’s based on the childish obsession with causing major damage for the many when the few don’t “get their way”. Most people grow out of it as adults with the notable exception of politicians (especially Rebaglicans, and their hypocritical base). For these, there is nothing wrong with ‘their’ President taking executive action on immigration (as Raygun & Bush did), but they are quick to shutdown the government or it’s vital services in order to blame the other side. The $50M squandered on repetitive useless attempts to keep people from obtaining affordable healthcare is a perfect example, as is the billions wasted during the last GOP-led Fed shutdown which they also blamed on others. In adults this trait seems to be derived from keeping one’s head buried either in the sand, or in an anatomically uncomfortable location where it can then be used as a convenient seat cushion & flotation device!

True to form, Boehner and his clueless GOP cohort are once again suggesting that Obama and/or Senate Democrats will responsible for the damage done by a federal government shutdown.
This is a completely nonsensical assertion, akin to a kidnapper who holds a gun to the abductee’s head while making pie-in-the-sky ransom demands, defiantly proclaiming that any harm done to the victim will be the fault of the family members who don’t comply with his ultimatums.
