Former New York Governor George Pataki Moving Toward A 2016 Run

Posted by | February 6, 2015 10:30 | Filed under: Politics Radio Interviews Top Stories

The three-term New York governor is sounded like a candidate when he appeared on my radio show Thursday night.

PATAKI: I would be far more aggressive in going after ISIS and cleaning out that nest of vipers, including if necessary, putting boots on the ground to destroy them, not a trillion dollar effort to create a democracy. A quick strong effort to destroy those planning, plotting and organizing to attack us.
COLMES: So you would go in where, you would go into Syria, you would go into Iraq, you would go in with boots on the ground?
PATAKI: I would go in wherever ISIS is, kill as many of them as possible, as quickly as possible.

More tough talk that is absolutely meaningless.

What does he mean by “go in”? Are we going to launch ground invasions of Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Pakistan or Jordan? How about Saudi Arabia? What if ISIS is in all of those countries? What if ISIS is in those countries establishing controlled areas completely against the will of the sovereign government of those countries?

How many trillions of dollars will this fool’s errand cost the American taxpayer?

Gov. Pataki, your talking point might be fodder for fund-raising letters, but in terms of viable options for the United States, it is complete bullsh*t.
