Open Carry Group: Support Open Carry Or Be Punished By Death As Traitors

Kory Watkins, of Open Carry Tarrant County, is a tough guy with words.  As Anomaly at FreakOutNation points out:

Watkins uploaded a video in which he calls for the death of legislators who he believes are treasonous. This is the same rhetoric he used with Democratic Texas House Representative Pancho Nevarez when he called him a “tyrant.”

“Texans I’m tired of jacking around I’m tired of playing politically correct games,” Watkins says.

“Let me remind you going against the constitution is treason,” he declares, adding  “that is punishable by death.”

The video ends with Watkins saying, “OK, this is treason against the American a people.”

Another self appointed constitutional scholar who confuses gun ownership as a substitute for intelligence.

Wow, this guy is smart, what a compelling argument he made, those right’s should be passed tomorrow, forthwith, lickity split, okey dokey…
This is the same state mind you that suspended a 9 year old kid for a magic ring, and no one will even think about arresting this fool for threatening every elected official in the state…Gotta love Texas.

Let’s sum up to get a sense of just where Kory Watkins is.

First and foremost, he makes constant reference to “The Constitution,” by which I assume he means that of the United States, and specifically the second amendment right to keep and bear arms.

I assume Kory interprets this to mean that neither the federal government nor any state may enact laws to restrict or restrain firearm usage by any citizen, may they be three year old toddler or mentally ill adult (and yeah, I’m looking at you, Kory).

No serious reading of the second amendment would argue to protect the right of citizens to harbor, say, a garage full of rocket propelled grenade launchers or perhaps a battery of nuclear-tipped missiles, but this is exactly what an absolutist reading of the second amendment would necessarily be required to protect.

The Supremes have repeatedly held that the second amendment does not say what Kory Watkins thinks it says, period, and his statement that he thinks this is treason and punishable by death is de facto evidence of serious mental illness, and should be treated accordingly.

Above all, this behavior emphasizes that Kory is a ticking time bomb. We often regret in retrospect that the writing on the wall was there but we just couldn’t read it.

I think we know what is the inevitable result of Kory Watkins’ threats, and hope we act in time to get him some help, before someone gets hurt.

I hope he is being watched now.

Too stupid to use landscape mode for his video.
I don’t think his own life expectancy looks too promising.
