An off-duty Police officer in Florida shot and killed his son on Christmas Eve. 21-year-old named Khamis Shatara, the deputy’s son, wanted to be a cop.

The victim, 21-year-old Khamis Shatara

The shooting took place in Delray Beach, and the deputy has been placed on paid administrative leave.

New Times Blogs reports:

…Sgt. Nicole Guerriero confirmed to New Times that the name of the deputy who killed his son is Shatara K. Shatara.

As for the victim, Khamis Shatara appears to have been a criminal justice major at Palm Beach State College who idolized police. He was recently quoted in that college’s newspaper, and a Pinterest account matching Khamis’ name and photo contains several memes honoring police officers. Eerily, one of those memes shows a cop firing a gun at point-blank range.

The victim wrote on Pinterest, “Shake their hand and say thank you for serving your community next time you see an officer.”

It all depends on what type cop he is. He might be a bad guy.

A populace can’t fight the government by force – the government will win every time. Just ask the Irish Republican Army! However, as Gandi and (later) Martin Luther King has shown, you can do it by peaceful means, and by the rule of law.

I don’t think it was an “accident.” Your hand has to be on the trigger and exert pressure
