Oh Sh*t: Broken Pipe Spills Sewage Into South Carolina Town’s City Hall

Anderson City Hall in South Carolina is literally full of sh*t after a broken pipe spilled sewerage which even went through the ceiling tiles into Judge Ken Mattison’s office and the office of his assistant.

Oh sh*t!

Officials said the sewer line broke on the second story where the city jail is located at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, WYFF reports.

Anderson City Manager John Moore explained that it was when the 3-inch sewer line broke that sewage went through the ceiling tiles into the Judge’s and his assistant’s office.

Included in the damage by the dump (pun intended): Computers, file cabinets, desks, the carpet and more were covered in sewage and will need to be replaced.

WYFF reports:

The city manager’s, finance department and information technology offices were evacuated Monday afternoon because of the smell from the shared ventilation system.

Some paperwork was lost and officials are still accessing damage to computers, etc.

The building was being disinfected Tuesday and carpet was being ripped up.

Court was held in council chambers Tuesday morning and will continue on a limited basis.

Crews worked through the night on Tuesday to clean up the crap.

Sewerage is what sewage travels through – so the pipe didn’t spill sewerage.

No it doesn’t – nowhere does the word “sewerage” even appear in the story linked to.

A friend tweeted me the typo, thanks. Wasn’t sure what you were saying.

No prob – I learned a new word today. I thought for sure you had concocted a new one – but ‘sewerage’ IS an actual word.

Never any money for maintenance but always money for repairs, repairs that are always at least ten times as expensive.
