GOP Congressman: Eric Garner Wouldn’t Have Died From Chokehold If He Weren’t ‘Obese’

Posted by | December 4, 2014 09:00 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

After a grand jury decided to not indict a while police officer for placing a black man in a chokehold which resulted in his death, deep thinker Rep. Peter King (R-NY) defended the officer on Tuesday.

NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo was not charged in the death of 43-year-old Eric Garner.

“You had a 350-pound person who was resisting arrest. The police were trying to bring him down as quickly as possible,” King said  on CNN’s The Situation Room, according to Talking Points Memo.

“If he had not had asthma and a heart condition and was so obese, almost definitely he would not have died from this. The police had no reason to know he was in serious condition,” he added.

Garner told the officer repeatedly that he couldn’t breathe.

However, King said, “But if you can’t breathe, you can’t talk.”

King also dismissed the idea that race played into the scenario.

“I have no doubt, if that were a 350-pound white guy, he would have been treated the same,” King said.

Sometimes it’s better to not say anything than to tweet moronic comments.

    “Decision must be respected”

No Peter it doesn’t. By the way…shut your pie hole and only speak when you’re asked to speak…

In what warped, back-assward world does this travesty denote ‘justice’? Does the punishment fit the crime? The guy was selling a few smokes for crying out loud. Considering that Rep. King (R-Assclown) spends his days sitting on his brain and engaging in obstruction at the tax payer’s expense, and is no bantam-weight himself, I have to wonder how well he would handle an illegal choke-hold and tackle by a half-dozen cops? Perhaps if it was a member of his family he might feel differently!

The actual irony is that no loosies were found! He died for no reason whatsoever in an assault by cops.

But the budget of NY was in crises and 100’s of cents were at risk of being lost.

Yes, we all must die to preserve the oppressive tax base!

Oh, well then I guess, Peter, if you die as a result of police brutality, can we attribute your death to “old age”? After all, since you’re around 70-years-old, I’m sure you have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.
    .
I’m going to attribute your idiotic remark to senility as a result of advanced age.

And according to the buy-bull, three score and ten is what man can expect. Unless your name is Noah, in which case you can expect about 900 years.

This is an example of the quality of men who replaced the caliber of those who set the foundation of this country! Talk about what immigration can do to a nation and degrade its intellectual caliber: This so-called Congress man is the perfect example. The people who produced him should never have been allowed in this country!

And who better to speak of the deleterious effects of obesity than the portly and dull-witted Congressman Peter King.
