Walmart Workers Left Thanksgiving ‘Gift’ On Doorstep Of $25 Million Walton Condo

Last week, I noted an Oklahoma Walmart that decided to demonstrate privatized charity for the world – by running a food-drive for it’s employees, because raising wages is just too hard. That was for Thanksgiving. In return, the employees have decided to give Alice Walton, the heiress and daughter of Walmart founder Sam Walton, an early…

Classic! Unfortunately, the Waltons are the familial version of the singular Scrooge. And just like Scrooge, Mao-Mart employees will have to work sometime on Xmas day. :(

    This is a beautiful gesture!
As usual, it will be “water off a ducks back” to the Waltons who own slaves here and in many countries around the world.
Still nice to see the pushback against their greed and inhumanity.

The average wage of all U.S. cashiers was $11.22 an hour, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey.
Wal-Mart has said that its average hourly wage is $11.81 for hourly
workers, not including managers, and that only 5,000 of its 1.4 million
U.S. workers make the minimum wage.
A Starbucks store manager makes an average $44,632 yearly salary, compared with $92,462 at Wal-Mart.

      Where’s your source?

Here’s mine, from the US government.

Of 709 people who posted on glassdoor.com, the average pay for sales associates was $9.21 per hour. For 399 cashiers who posted, it was $8.97. If Spirit’s figures were from WalMart, the employees seem to be telling a different story. But even at the higher figure, that’s only about $24,000 a year. The four Walton familiy members occupy spots 8-11 on the US billionaires list.

Honestly, I laughed at Spirit’s numbers. When s/he stated that Walmart said…, I was LOL at that.

Do you believe Walmart’s figures, seriously? It said Walmart says… ??? Not WSJ or the US government. It also isn’t as simple as what one gets paid; throw in benefits and Walmart takes in government funding from welfare payments to its employees. It even lobbied to stopping welfare reductions as it would hurt their bottom line. While you’re at it, ignore the link I provided which is from the US government.

No, you’re right, everybody you don’t like outright lies, silly me. Unfortunately, read some industry journals, they say the same thing. And it is not only walmart says… read & follow provided links, including the study National Bureau of Economic Research did.

And I thought we were talking about pay, now were are expanding? But if expanding, talk about closing a walmart to a local economy… loss of jobs, loss of cheap things for locals, etc.

And if talking about low wages, bring in every company that has entry level jobs, not just walmart as a ‘single’ evil entity.

Why do you want me to ignore a link you provided?

Ad hominem; this is where I walk away from one who uses this tactic to defend their premise. If I didn’t like you, of which I never stated (and I do not even know who you are IRL), I wouldn’t give you the time of day, nor ever reply to your comments. But such as it is, consider it done, I won’t ever reply again. Disingenuousness is something I do not tolerate from those who tread fences.

It wasn’t an ad hom, i didn’t attack your character, I attacked your outright dismissal of something because of part of what was there and you don’t like them; you did do an ad hom on walmart insinuating ‘you can’t believe them’ right off the bat, even though trade journals and such support their public numbers.

“While you’re at it, ignore the link I provided which is from the US government.”
So, incorrectly percieved(or defined?) disingenuousness isn’t tolerated, but unprovoked sarcasm is?

I think it may be a good thing not to ever reply to my posts, I’m not found of duplicity and double standards as a tactic to defend their premise. Doesn’t add anything good in my view.

The living Walton family has a collective net worth of approx. $152BB!! That is about the same as 41% of the total of all U.S. families. The Walmart company has about 2.1 MM workers, worldwide, or more or less $7238 of Walton heir wealth for each employee.

Walmart is the retail leader of the oligarchy. They could care less about the “servants” who help the Waltons make their millions. Food drives?? How about paying employees a LIVING wage starting at $10.50 per hour (minimum)!!?? BTW…the oligarchy is winning because they are controlling Thanksgiving Day (taking it away) from employees. Target…Macy’s…JCP…K-Mart…Sears…Dillards…etc are all guilty. The only way this will stop is for EVERYONE to boycott Thanksgiving openings but there are way to many fools still shopping and the retail stranglehold continues unabated. Look for Thanksgiving Day to be completely taken away from workers in the next few years. Think it won’t happen?…Think again…
