Happy Thanksgiving
Our tradition at Liberaland has been to present the classic Arlo Guthrie song, “Alice’s Restaurant.” It’s based on a true story and is satirical take on the counter culture of the 1960’s. But it is also a protest song against the Vietnam war and the military draft. Particularly telling is the hypocrisy of the draft board. If you were ever arrested for any reason, no matter how small, you couldn’t go fight the war. Guthrie sings: “I’m sittin’ here on the Group W bench ’cause you want to know if I’m moral enough to join the Army, burn women, kids, houses and villages after bein’ a litterbug.”

This was a mind blowing “news” story to wake up to this morning..
Seems a couple of guys with “ties’ to the NBP bought pipe bombs from ‘undercover agents’ and alleged plotted to blow up the Gateway Arch and other alleged nefarious actives.(murder the Furgeson police chief and STL DA)…
Perfect fodder for the right wing media to freak out over.

very well said, displayed and fitting for the TURKEY Day celebration. Chewing on the WHITE meat today reminded me of what Americans in my father’s generation did to the WHITE RACIST from Germany. Just chewed and chewed and chewed until they was no more. Makes for a pretty clean plate when it’s all gone.

By the way everybody, oil dropping like a rock today. Already down below 70 dollars a barrel. Cheaper gas on the way. A reason to be happy for sure.
