Open Carry Texas: Malala Yousafzai Is A ‘Twit’

Open Carry Texas wouldn’t know a hero if one saved their lives.

It was five years ago that Malalo Yousafzai, at 11-years-old, wrote an anonymous accounting of life under Taliban rule and after that, she was shot in the head by militants. Yousafzai recently became the youngest person ever to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

TIME magazine named her as one of the most influential people in 2013.  She won the European Parliament’s Sakharov prize for Freedom of Thought and they acknowledged “the incredible strength of this young woman” because “Malala bravely stands for the right of all children to be granted a fair education.”

Her autobiography “I Am Malala” was released last year.

Malala wrote of  the struggle for girls’ education when the Taliban controlled Swat.

Malala Yousafzai said, “I want every girl, every child to be educated.” You see, militants had no tolerance for females being educated so they obliterated girls’ schools.

She’s extremely brave. She’s a hero and a role model. She overcame a male-dominated region of the world. She overcame being shot in the head. There aren’t enough words that I can write about this girl’s life that would honor her enough. She’s admired by the left and the right.

But, to Open Carry Texas, she’s a just ‘twit.’ In their quest to demonize the guns sense group, Moms Demand Action, they reduced a heroic girl who is fighting the good fight, to a “twit”.

The group of Open Carry extremists write, “Isn’t it interesting that the same people trying to convince you that young people aren’t smart enough to have guns on a college campus are the same people using this twit to further their statist agenda?”

No, seriously.

They sound so much like the Taliban, the same group that tried to murder Malala, but she refused to die. The same group who opposes education for girls.

Debby writes in the comments, “When you take a couple or three bullets point blank to the head and survive it and win the Nobel Prize, then you can call her a twit. Until then, shut your mouth. And no, I’m not trolling (your post showed up on my FB wall for some reason) and, no, I’m not an anti-gun nut. But it won’t hurt you to show respect for the girl and what she’s been through. Of course, to her the gun has no power because it couldn’t stop her from trying to get education for girls. Take it in the context it was given.”

Open Carry Texas’ leader, C.J. Grisham, has referred to the gun sense group as “Thugs With Jugs” so this isn’t really that much of a surprise. She’s just a younger target.

The group is taking quite a beating on their Facebook page, but it pales in comparison to a young girl being shot in the head.

The leader of Open Carry Texas tweets:

OK, first show us the ‘character’ you’re referring to.

Big thanks to my source. You rock.

“I have a dream! That one day we will be judged by the content of our character, not the type of gun we open carry.”

Regardless of the type of gun you open carry, the very fact that you open carry causes me to judge you eons before I can determine if you HAVE character, let alone what the contents are.

Malala Yousafzai has more courage in her pinkie finger than all of the Texas Open Carry members combined.
