Noam Chomsky: U.S. Support For Israel Is ‘Completely Criminal’

MIT Professor Noah Chomsky was on my radio show Thursday night with his take on Gaza, Israel, Iraq and the United States. We first talked about the American media, that he says “tend to conform” to “state power and concentrated private power” that support Israel “and have no use for the Palestinians.” Americans “need to know” that the United States has been giving military, economic and diplomatic support for Israel “which are completely criminal.  It’s in violation of international law, Security Council orders and the judgement of the World Court. The United States tries to present itself as an honest broker of peace, but in fact has blocked it. “The United States stands virtually alone with Israel,” says Chomsky.

Israel’s contention that it has to defend itself from rockets is “mostly a farce.” Hamas has “scrupulously” adhered to the November 2012 ceasefire, and Israel “never adhered to the ceasefire,” a “pattern that has been repeated over and over.”

Sending arms to Israel,” Chomsky asserts, “is in violation of U.S. law.” The United States has to accept the framework of the Oslo Accord that Gaza and the West Bank are one entity, and that would more quickly enable peace.

On our efforts to help the Yazidis in Iraq, it is “one of the horrendous consequences of the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003.” It is the United Nations that is “responsible for maintaining world peace” and we should be acting through them.

In another place and time he would have been a member of the Judenrat, an organization that sent its own people to their deaths. This is so pitiful.

you are an ass. Chomsky is one of the few minds in the usa that understands its complicit history a la violence and white/west control of the gateway to the mid east.

Le’ts avoid name-calling if you disagree with someone’s opinion.

Without name-calling the Internet, including this site, would not be half as interesting. That is why Alan I have urged you to keep publishing your hate mail. We gotta have comic relief. Besides…free marketplace of ideas and all that.

It’s one thing to disagree with a reasonable opinion and falling into the name-calling trap. But John Tarter/Wayout’s opinions are so vile that they deserve no better retort.

Like when he said that he’s “not that aggrieved” about US troops who were needlessly killed in Dubya’s unnecessary war of choice. He’s too cowardly to fight these wars themselves, yet he was a cheerleader for them because he’s a bloodthirsty genocidal racist warmonger. And yet he doesn’t even have the decency to feel sorry for the troops who died to satisfy his lust for blood.

I’ll try to avoid name-calling over differences of opinion. But when it comes to questions of morality and character, I will call people like Wayout/John Tarter the degrading names that he deserves.

You do better by not stooping to a level you decry in others.

Chomsky is and always has been a dedicated American communist and a completely self-hating Jew and has a 40 year record to prove it.
