President Obama On Russia: ‘What Are They Trying To Hide?’

Posted by | July 21, 2014 12:06 | Filed under: News Behaving Badly Politics Top Stories

President Obama lashed out at Russia, calling for their government to rein in the rebel fighters believed by many international leaders to be responsible for downing Malaysian Airlines flight 17 passenger jet and killing all 298 aboard.

Obama said Russia has so far failed to stop the rebels from impeding investigators at the site and accused them of treating remains poorly and removing evidence from the site.

“What exactly are they trying to hide?” he said.

Speaking at about the same time, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko weighed in:

Poroshenko, speaking to CNN’s Christiane Amanpour, pleaded for international solidarity against the rebels fighting the government in Kiev.

“I don’t see any differences” between 9/11, the Lockerbie bombing, and the attack on Flight MH17, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.

Such terrorism is a danger to the “whole world” and to “global security,” he said.

Nothing in his head either. The guy is a sociopathic narcissist. And why hasn’t Sarah seen this coming? After all, she’s keeping her eyes on Putin.

That’s true, she can see him from her backyard ;-)

At this point the Russians are just trying to hide their bumbling idiocy. Their foreign policy decision making is as bad as our last presidents was. Oh how I wish we could hide that. We can’t hide it though and the Russians will figure out that they can’t either. Hopefully, like in America, they will see the error of their way and call for new leadership. Countries that are big are slow to change course but it can be done with hard work and determination. Let’s hope the people of Russia recognize the challenge before them and they are ready to make the necessary changes to bring about new leadership with better policies.

    • BanditBasheert July 21st, 2014 at 13:11

Agree. I don’t think it was bumbling though. The Russian separatists were told what to do and when to do it by Moscow. Moscow has chosen to arm idiots, morons and drunks who really cannot be controlled.

Reminds me of the Tea Party, Mom’s With Guns, Open Carry Texas, ect. And their connection to the GOP the Kock Brother and the KKK. . .ah conservatism!

Unfortunately their news stream is tightly controlled and they are fed nothing but lies concerning the cause of this event.

That’s hard to do with really big stories like this, eventually the truth gets out.

I think most of the older Russians know who Col. Putin is/ I’m pretty sure that if any of the younger Russians don’t , or forgot, they’ll be reminded as the situation necessitates.

Are we discussing stonewalled investigations and lack of transparency? Let me know how that works out for you.

    • Anomaly 100 July 21st, 2014 at 12:43

There is that other little thingy about Russians taking evidence from the site.

      • R.J. Carter July 21st, 2014 at 12:48

Not to mention Sky News reporters going through suitcases, etc.

        • BanditBasheert July 21st, 2014 at 13:10

If I’m not mistaken they not only apologized, they admitted it was stupid and horrible to do.
Unlike the Russian separatists – who apparently are being told what to do by Moscow.

          • R.J. Carter July 21st, 2014 at 13:56

Oh yeah, the reporter I saw even said as he was doing it, “I probably shouldn’t be doing this.” But it speaks to the lack of security around the site that anyone can just walk in and root around the wreckage.

        • Anomaly 100 July 21st, 2014 at 14:18

Walter Cronkite is spinning in his grave.

      • BanditBasheert July 21st, 2014 at 13:09

Yes the recent phone calls intercepted indicate the ORDER to grab and hide the black boxes came from Moscow.
Putin will pay for this … in the world community there is no tolerance for the desecration of human bodies.

      • fancypants July 21st, 2014 at 14:00

from what ive seen there are more then Russians looting the site. consider this crime scene 100% contaminated by anyone who was within a bicycle or motor scooter ride from the crash.
Don’t count on the Ukraine or Russia to say anything about the above either

This is to be expected. Putin knows he f*cked up royally and is now clamoring to cover up the evidence. This is nothing new. Nixon did it during watergate, Reagan did it during the Iran-Contra scandal, Clinton did it during the BJ gate, The RCC did it when the pedophile scandal broke, etc. I’m not condoning the actions of the Putskins. I’m just saying it’s par for the course.

they might be trying to hide the 2016 surprise of Putin being the ‘secret GOP’ POTUS nominee made to look like the Greedy Bishop? (we’ll know for sure if he remembers what underwater boats are called.).

news update: Ukrainian ordered illegal military weapons (types not mentioned) from Vietnam are currently being held in Finland. Should they be similar to the type that brought down the airline, how hard would it be for the rebels to fire one, retrieve vital evidence and plant it at the wreckage site? – or to blame the Ukraine Military?
Another conspiracy in the making with beliefs and questions from both sides to muddle up the error of the airlines to take a ‘cheaper route’.
At least the downing of KAL flight 007 was known for a fact.
