Watch: Republican Mistakes Kids Attending ‘Y’ Camp for Refugees

Posted by | July 16, 2014 13:00 | Filed under: Politics Top Stories

After being warned by local sheriff Paul Babeau that buses of immigrant kids were being transported into town, a large protest was organized to block the them. To be fair, another group also showed up to welcome the kids.

Republican state legislator and congressional candidate Adam Kwasman rushed in to take advantage of some free publicity by giving interviews until the approaching bus was spotted. He quickly moved with the crowd to confront the bus, which the sheriff allowed to pass. In another interview Mr. Kwasman spoke of the fear he saw in those children’s eyes as they passed, according to AZFamily.

Later on, when recounting the episode to another reporter, he was informed those were kids were Americans on their way the local Y camp.

Hilarity ensues. Watch courtesy of AZFamily:

Low-information politician elected by low-information voters.

I have seen the future, and if right wingers like this define that future, this is what is in store for everyone

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0387808/

    Idiocracy (2006)

Private Joe Bauers, the definition of “average American”, is selected by the Pentagon to be the guinea pig for a top-secret hibernation program. Forgotten, he awakes 500 years in the future. He discovers a society so incredibly dumbed-down that he’s easily the most intelligent person alive.

Great movie because sadly, it’s come to life.

Wow! A Republican apologizing! Count on him getting a fringe primary opponent in the next election.

He is one of our Legislative wingnuts (referred to locally as the 90 DWARFS) – most of them are rabid Mormon haters.
But he’s running for Congress .. so he has to open up his mouth and prove to one and all that he’s a Good Old Boy Hater.

“Did you know that was a bus with YMCA kids? Immediate response, not even a breath taken, “They were sad to”
The entire SNL writing staff couldn’t come up with anything that funny on their best day.

I was trained in Law Enforcement and Security in the Air Force and one thing we learned immediately is that you enforce the laws without choosing what you want to enforce or don’t want to enforce. You use fairness and reason in how to enforce them. You don’t obstruct others in their performance of their duties and if you do then you are breaking the law. This sheriff has broken the law because he intended to interfere with Federal Officials in the legal performance of their duties, leaking information that was not for public knowledge, endangered the lives of officials, civilians and those being transported. He is a criminal.

    • BanditBasheert July 16th, 2014 at 17:19

      Of course he’s a criminal. But he’s Paul Babeu .. it’s Arizona.

Unfortunately Sarge, that’s the norm, at least where I’m from. That’s the actual reason folks don’t trust the cops to protect them if they speak up about witnessing a crime. And thus phrases like~”snitches get stitches….” become the new norm.

So glad the reporter called him out. What a moron.
Aside from the fact that he lied, to say that the kids are scared, of course the refugee kids are scared. 1-Look what they went through to get here. 2-They’re in a strange country, many of them w/o Parents. 3-Idiots like you are screaming at them as the Government tries to give them some kind of comfort during processing. 4-THEY’RE CHILDREN. 5-They’re facing going back to possibly death or enslavement. 6-THEY’RE CHILDREN. 7-I could go on and on…

    • BanditBasheert July 16th, 2014 at 17:18

“aside from the fact that he lied” … you could have stopped right there. He LIED because he thought it would give him some political moxie. Is anyone but me getting sick and tired of the GOP trashing on women and kids just to make political points with their ignorant base?

    • Suzanne McFly July 16th, 2014 at 17:44

I loved how he tried to look so concerned for these kids and was sincere in how he felt that the right thing to do is send these sad little kids back to mom and dad where they can be safe and loved again.

    • DaddyO_969 July 16th, 2014 at 21:07

I’d say the Y kids were scared because this moron and the crowds and the police would scare a reasonable adult, let alone a bus load of kids who’d never seen the like.

Those GOPer D*cktards MUST BE STOPPED. Instead, they stop a busload of innocent children——because they’re brown[I presume] than of course “they must be illegals…”. Je-yee-zus! smdh –.–

    • BanditBasheert July 16th, 2014 at 22:15

Not sure they were all “browns” … but they were in a school bus so they were automaticallly suspected of being brown terrorists.
