Boykin: Bergdahl Is A Deserter Who Should Have Been Killed

He is a deserter who should have been killed, just like Anwar al-Awlaki, the Family Research Council VP says. Boykin a former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence under George W. Bush, was interviewed by Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

As Boykin sees it, the trade of five Taliban leaders in exchange for Bergdahl’s return was “so phony” because Bergdahl was a known deserter who was no different than al-Awlaki.

“Al-Awlaki was an American citizen,” Boykin said. “He was assassinated by the Obama administration because he was a traitor, he had turned on America. I’m glad he’s dead. I have no issue with that. But what’s the different between al-Awlaki and Bowe Bergdahl?”

Maybe I was off the day Bergdahl was declared guilty of desertion.

In the real world, SGT Bergdahl was cleared of misconduct. These clowns will double down.

Was he a deserter? Did he suffer from PTSD prior to his ‘desertion?’ He sure had symptoms of such.

Sgt. Bergdahl suffered for years as a POW. The right clamored for his release…until Obama did it. Now it was bad to do. Until the Sgt has been proven guilty of any crime, he deserved to be treated with honor and dignity.

Without making any prejudgement on Bergdahl, if you want to know all about Boykin, go on the PEOPLE FOR THE AMERICAN WAY website and research him in their right-wing crazies file. He’s got a long history of incendiary extremism. Sometimes I wonder how someone like him rose to the rank of 3-star general.
