Bowe Bergdahl Reportedly Ready To Return To Active Duty
Click here for reuse options!…Bergdahl has finished undergoing therapy and counseling at an Army hospital in San Antonio, and will assume a job at the Army North headquarters at the same base, Fort Sam Houston, the officials said.
He is also expected to meet with Maj. Gen. Kenneth R. Dahl, the officer who is investigating the circumstances of Sergeant Bergdahl’s disappearance from his outpost in Afghanistan in 2009.
Sergeant Bergdahl’s transfer from the therapy phase to a regular soldier’s job is part of his reintegration into Army life, officials said. He will live in barracks and have two other soldiers help him readjust.

I was wondering that myself, until I saw the little cooling inlets on the side of the cowling. Also I believe the Grumman ironworks corsair had a three bladed Hamilton Standard prop

Later variants of the Corsair used 4 blade props for improved performance with higher horsepower radials. Like the P-47 Thunderbolt which always had 4 blades.

After consulting with my fellow 50 weight oil, 115/145 octane fuel geeks, the cowling in question might very well be that of the f4u5.

the corsair is a beauty that’s for sure. being the aviation buff and sometimes pilot :-) anytime i get to kick the tires and light the fires, its a real airplane. :-)

I was wondering that myself, until I saw the little cooling inlets on the side of the cowling. Also I believe the Grumman ironworks corsair had a three bladed Hamilton Standard prop. Then I thought Bearcat, but again it didn’t have the jowl cooler intakes. Not an AD1 Skyraider or a Japanese Shiden. I thought I knew my radials, but I’m a little baffled. The B-24’s built by GM sported jowl coolers like in the pic, but they swing a 3 bladed prop. My guess it’s a racing hybrid, probably an R-2800…maybe??
