An Actual Science Test At South Carolina Christian School

The student got an “A” for agreeing that humans and dinosaurs existed at the same time, and that the earth is not billions of years old.

Fourth-graders at a private religious school in South Carolina are being taught those jaw-dropping (and, um, untrue) statements as part of a “science” lesson called “Dinosaurs: Genesis and the Gospel.” According to a picture of one student’s test, when someone tells you that the Earth is millions of years old, you’re supposed to respond “Were you there?” One parent wasn’t exactly thrilled about this particular lesson. “I now know to be vigilant … about [my daughter’s] science teachings,” he told the urban legend investigators at Snopes. “She will not be attending the school next year.”
